It is a waste of time that gives people an excuse to not do sh!t.

The purpose of the media is to waste people's time, filling their heads with garbage and brainwash them into being good passive consumers.

So the aim of the powers that be is largely to keep the majority of people too confused to figure out anything to do that is truly useful to serve their own best interests. Give them pseudo-interests. Like football and futball.

What is the purpose of blame?

Some examples

We blame white people for oppression when we have shown that we can be just as oppressive towards our own.

We blame American blacks for the image of blacks around the world when western blacks aren't the only ones shown on T.V. We've all seen Africa images as well.

Is assigning blame a scapegoat for those working in their own confusion?

Does it become empty rhetoric to stroke our own egos or ease our conscience?

Or does it help us move forward, taking the weight or pressure off of those who were unlucky, while providing them with the courage to move on?

Is it more helpful or harmful to allow blame to take center stage? Does it take over and become the only true mission, or does it provide a stepping stone for a brighter future?

[line]

Timeline: sorry but I've got to rebutt this libertarian boot strap philosophy hard.... This is the same type of Argument often presented by Europeans seeking to avoid responsibility for taking action....

Your premise is way to broad and lacks any serious examination of the WHY bit...you cannot just lump all these scenarios and then call it a cogent argument.....let me say why..

If for example a woman, insitutionalised into the culture of abuse tomorrow blames her husband for not being able to do anything or for lack of functioning..is she avoiding responsibility, conversly if a woman subject to years of physical abuse, returns to the abuser knowing that he will abuse again... What about if she BLAMES her husband for her own examples abuse of her children..who is at fault?

Lets flip this again and talk about Children who are abused by their parents..if that child knowing what the effects of that abuse is, then decides to abuse other children and then BLAMES his/her parent for that abuse..would they have a point..?

Look at the stat's its a known and established fact that abused people, have a greater chance of becoming abusers themselves..that is why men who were abused, end up abusing in later life.. thats why children who have been abused often end up abusin others in later life..that why women who are abused often end up abusing their children...

Who is to BLAME...the person socialised into a culture of abuse or they person who socialised them in the first place?

Sorry but it is JUST too easy to talk about BLACKS..'blaming' whites and then offset that by then stating that WE 'oppress' too... That sound to be like the Apologist theory on offsetting Slavery...

often its couch in language like; 'Oh well so what if whites took slavery..the African's also took slaves and whats more helped us take them'... Sorry Timeline but that Argument, like your agument simply doesn't stand up to any sort of serious examination..

Here's why to cite one example to illustrate the point......to equal or put on par the oppression by Africans on the same level as Europeans misses a serious geo political and scio economiccontext...

Even as President of Azania..Nelson Mandela wasn't able to bring to brook those people who commited crimes against his own people..in fact PW Botha virtually and verbally to him to piss off..and mandela had to take it...

If we flip this to the Western context...you tell me any BLACK MAN in any position who could OPPRESS a white man ..in the EXACT same context as they do us..and still keep his position.. It simply wouldn't happen.. Yes a African can and is racially oppressive on a minor scale in individual examples to other cultures... But you couldn't for example get Condilezza Rice, passing an Amendment to detain only white folks in cuba.. or get the Police to target ONLY white males for potential peadophille tendacies...THINK about it...would that be possible?

Yet flip that scenario back..and the reverse happens every single day....We have non white nations kidnapped and held illegally in Cuba.. In the UK..we have Muslims Goaled on evidence they haven't even seen and held in Belmarsh indefinately WITHOUT charge.. We routinely have employers discriminating against non whites,, by filtering out all foriegn sounding names...

So if I can't even get an INTERVIEW because my African name bars me from demostrating my ability to the job..who do I blame..myself? If i'm unfairly sacked from my job, because the white workers dislike my skin colour..who do I BLAME..myself? If I try to get a taxi and it drives off or refuses to take my fare..who do I BLAME myself..

IF i get sent to the worse Projects, to live and my children sent to the worse sink schools and they turn out delinquent..who do I BLAME myself?

Sorry Timeline..it may sound really right on, but your premise is fanciful European avoidance tactics class 101...aka bullshit!!

unfortunatly Blame is as much mapped in human brain as the gene map for eye colour.

we cannot avoid it

hardly anyone is accountable or responsible

ie babyfada blame babymada for getting pregnant, babymada blaming babyfada for getting her pregnant.

and it will go on , and on and on

why do people resort to blame..........simple it gets rid of ALL guilt on theor behalf.

Sometimes, blame is required where appropiate ie the racist education system against black boys, but when it gets ridiculas is when it is used as the ONLY reason to *rise above the channel*, what eventually happens is we have a *lazy* culture where everyone blames everybody and do nothing about it.

Blaming helps those of us who aren't as perceptive to see who and what the problems are.

But if we're gonna just keep BLAMING white people for mistreating us but never do anything constructive about it then it amounts to just useless whinning.

Mind me if this response seems abusive!!

1 BULLET, 1 BULLSHYTTER...... 1 BULLSHYTTER, 1 BULLET!!!

I dont know where to start with ungrateful ppl like you, for youto even call it a game shows your ignorance to even acknowledge the magnitude of what we are dealing with.

You say Africans are playing a blame game? why dont you try taking the open path to get invovled in changin the reality of the lives we live and then come back and jot down all your obstacles and then show me who controls these obstacles.

WHAT CAN WE NOT BLAME THE WHITE MAN FOR THAT IS WRONGON A MASS SCALE INOUR LIVES AND I WOULD SHOW YOU OTHERWISE. INFACT THE REASON WHY WE R IN A HARD POSITION TO MAKE CHANGES ON A MASS SCALE TO PROBLEM, CREATED BY WHITE MAN OR NOT, IS BCUS OF THE POSITION WHITE POWER CAPITALISM LEAVES US IN. WORKING CONSTANTLY SCRAMBLIN FOR RESOURCES THAT IS STOLEN FROM US IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Is it our fault that the African presidents are corrupt?

Well lets look at it, Congo alone got enough food to feed the whole damn world, but yet the majority are starving through out the whole of Africa and everywhere we are. And thats just food alone whilst the majority of Africans on the continents survive of 3% of Africas resources, Do you believe its the African president consuming all these resources? DO you even believe they could consume it all? Or do you think the blame game white man could be getting some considering they r powerfull based on their abundance of resources whilst none are natural to the land the dominate? So they give it to the west, but Dont you think these neo-colonial presidents would be richer if they didnt? What do you think holds them from doing that? Could it be the same reason assassination attempts have been made on Robert Mugabe? Could it be the military in Iraq? Could it be the same reason why President Aristide got kidnapped? Could it be the same reason Kwame Nkrumah was killed just like Lumumba? Could it be the same forces that attack any African president that decides to be independent of the blame game white power? All previous deathsof which was organised by white people, or hheyyyyy, Im playing that stupid blame game of yours!

Is it our fault there is black on black crime?

Well lets look at it, our forefathers were slaves of which Britain generated much wealth. After the 2nd imperialist war (which they call world war) they brought us here from the Carribeans to provide slave labour at ridiculous wages. Then they sectioned us in the public sector of jobs that even built this country twice as much and then drive us from the cities we built into the slums and dumps of Britain after building the whole freaking country. Heyyyyy, maybe Im playing the....blame game! We then riot our way, not just simply running and shouting, people loosing lives to live decently, build a future for ourselves and children, being shot, broken bones and limbs with batons, arrested and killed behind bars for the wider majority, then a monkey like you comes to tell us we are playing the blame game. To ease off the riots, these crackas pretend like they have giving us access to our future by pulling up some sell out leaders and MPs, letting us walk side by side by the nasty people of britain, but cease away every influence we could have on our youths. They take away the youth clubs in African communities, although you pay the same tax crackas do, they take away independent schools for no reason like the one Lennox Lewis put a million pounds into, they remove positive education models and lessons about our peoples and fill their cirriculum with only slavery, they criminalise our traditional ways of disciplining our children, they take away clubs owned by Africans, they fight down our indpendent media outlets like private radio stations, they they give us white media in black faces they push one side of the coin to increase the atrocities amongst us like channel U, MTV Base, Choice FM, Voice News Paper, etc. then they fight down the existence of black businesses like most of these ones that once line up from the bottom to the top of Brixton, then you wonder with all these minimum wages, futureless jobs, endless struggles, misguiding media, negative respresentations why our youths are involved in crime? Not to mention statistics proves white are more of criminals than anyother race. Or am I playing the blame game?

Until you in the mix of political work and you know wot u r up against to the brim, dont try and play silly mind games about 'do you blame the white man' etc etc etc. Tooo many ungreatful people on this Earth, if we had more of you in this world we would be picking cotton to this very minutes. To summarise what you said in one phrase is like saying

'Oh dont blame the slave master, if youhad run faster you wouldnt be a slave!'

Bottom line is, we are not to blame for these conditions white power is, but we are fully responsible for our future. Responsibility and Blame are two different things. I dont unite with someone who blames and doesnt want to take responsiblity after knowing the contradictions like some of the posters on here. But just bcus two sets of people say 'A' dont mean they r both goin to follow it with 'B'. White power to blame for our reality is not s suggestion, its a fact! Nothing else can disprove that, so u would find two groups of people blaming white power for our current conditions, but u wont find the same two groups of people being responsible, what you wud find, is the people thatmainlylike to have a cup of tea talking about our atrocoties in the process of blaming, and then those that like to plan and take responsibility for a future in the process of identifying the enemy. Theres a big difference, and if u read even on these forums u wud be able to tell the active from the non active judging by the perspectives, conclusions and ideologies of their conversations.....well that is if you are active yoursefl. But since you are all so up on knowing whats right and wrong and who is and isnt to blame, like the proposal I make to all macho activists who know more than those doing things right now, I say why dont you start making a journal aboutthe practical steps you r takingto prove we are just blaming the white man, wen he isnt to blame.

ps: I guess we cant tell all those like Anthony Walker to forget about it!

UHURU means FREEDOM!!!

I blame nobody but myself for any of my failures. I see blaming someone else as putting them on a higher ground and does nothing more than say you are actually the mugfor falling for it.

Was speaking about the concept of marriage being a white man or christian thing being the reason many do not believe in it but I bet you as soon as the white man acknowleges cohabiting parents as legal couples everybody will be kriss with that.

Blame yourself, it's the best wayin finding a solution, worse case you'llaccespt the status quo for what it is.

People who get blamed are those who putthemselves in a position to get blamed and recognize the risks of what ever endeavor they undertake.

That's essentially what a leader is: someone responsible for a group of people. The failures and successes of that group is ultimately due to his leadership. You expect to getcredit and be lauded for being aneffective leader, and you alsoexpect the consequences of failure and the blame that follows.

The person in power and has control over the well being of othersis the ultimate source, and most of the blame should be directed at him.

**long tings**

Timeline: sorry if this appears to be a harsh rebuttle, it is not intended to be an attack on you personally..merely my attempt to your thoughts into a proper framework...

In that context, I was somewhat disappointed in your reply, it was very reactionary low on real content and high on recycled rhetoric borrowed i suspect from someone else... Timeline you're seriously in danger of sounding like Doubting Thomas in the Bible...always questioning, never attempting to understand or make sense of all the facts for himself... you reply to my post was extremely lazy, you contradicted your own thoughts and clearly didn't make an attempt to grasp the transferable context i carefully laid out..come on now thats not a discourser is it..

So lets do this again...so that you UNDERSTAND me better I am for the record Pan Africanist in my thinking...ie my worldview start from but does not conclude with Africa..This is in stark contrast to your views which appears to conclude with Europeans at the heart of it...

So in THAT context let me reply to your points....on a line by line basis..

Blame....sorry but the word 'blame' is entirely inappropriate..totally inappropriate.. It is not 'blame' to highlight and identify the route cause of a situation is it..that is in my view that is accurately telling history in the roundcarefully exploring the responsibilty of each culture in that scenario...thats not BLAME thats telling it as it is..that telling theTRUTH!!! That identifying undeniable FACTS... just because it is uncomfortable FACTS..does turn that information into a different word its still a FACt that needs to be dealt with properly...

Europeans..You said but'the Europeans don't care'..again beginni g the examination of this issue from a Pan African context... My reply is so what..who asked them to 'care'..its NOT about what they THINK, FEEL OR SAY... Only people whovalidate their exsistence against Europeans don't get that..only people put EUROPEANS at the HEART of their own thinking don't get that...

The fact is Timeline when we discuss, identify and explain the route cause of racism, Whate Global supremacyit is NOT for the benefit of WhiteAmerica or Europeans in general.. It is for US ALL-AFFRICANS world wide to begin to understand, to make sense and then combat the issues that contront us... I cannot control what a European feels, think or say.. BUt i can damn sure control how i will let itaffect me..thats the point..

When I used the example of the Abused woman syndrome..you talked about periods of rehabilitation and endings... You're totally right at some point people have to move on from being a victim to being a survivor.. But Timeline the flaw in your argument is this... to have closure one must first identify that you were a victim, you must first recognise and contront what took place, make sense of it and THEN more importantly develop strategies to ensure it can never happen again...

Now you tell me where has any of the above happened in respect of Global white Suppression...Prime Minster Blair, and President Bush refused some years ago to acknowledge their part in Slavery and Colonialist Africa.. Colin Powel ducked the conference in Durham when this was raised.. Too many Europeans do not see their connection to their current benefits and how Slavery provided it..

History at the moment is being taught even now, inaccurately, when blacks attempt to do for themselves our people are assassinated, totured and undermined consistently..I cite Malcolm,MLK, Lamumba, Nkrumah, Biko, Garvey, WEB Du bios, Black Panthers, Kwame Ture,Bishop, Manley etc etc Icould go on for years on this..

Now you THINK about this honestly..if you were helping a person who had seriously been traumatisd by a significant event, and you kept switching or taking away their social support, their Therapist and undermining their ability to be financial independant or to be emtionally viable.. Is that person likely to progress or remain an emotional mess!!!

To hear you talk, you sound like the proverbial doctor when, confronted by a distressed patient, who then tell them in a loud voice STOP being stupid and 'pull yourself together'..Think about the times you've been upset..would that type of advice helped or hindered.. Think about the times when you've been confused on an issue.. did it help for someone to tell you to get on with it..or did it help when they explained the situation in context and then highlighted possible solutions and route to achieve it .. are you getting this now!!!

Someone once said to me that when it comes to RACE..logic is always stood on its head..and its sootrue.. I cannot imagine that on any other issue..where people BLAME the victims and sympathised with the abuser.. I cannot think of any other scenario where the perpratrator is never made to feel accountable for their actions and the people who were abused are expected to forgive and forget..whilst the perp..rides off with the benefits of the crime..how does that make sense?

Can you imagine a situation where the JEWS are told to STOP 'BLAMING' the Germans for the Holocaust and to just 'MOVE ON' with their lives...No I didn't think so..But lets put this into context..the Holocaust was only for5 years and 8 year prior to that when Jews were persecuted in Pre wart Nazi Germany... 60 years later it still hurts for them....still hurts.. They were Humilated, abused and killed weren't they..their name was never changed, , they weren't forced to wear only German clothes and they weren't forced to abandon their heritage or their Jewish names were they?

Lets contrast this with Slavery, it was for more than 400 years and hundreds of Millions of Africans died in circumstances that make the Holocaust seem like playtime at Barney's.. Slavery ended when? 1865 (America) Colonian rule took over immediately in Africa, indentured slavery replaced overt Slavery in Britain and America therafter didn't it. The Jim Crow laws..that denied the Africa the vote in America..The right to own Property prescribe where he could live etc etc ended when TIMELINE....1965!!!

The Berlin Conference took place in 1885..(Study the date) this was the period when Europe carved up Africa, like some Birthday cake.. Do
