Hey guys.
What kind of money do you pay for getting cornrows newly done? Just trying to get an idea of price range.. also where do you live.. that might make a difference too?

it usually depends on whether or not you have it with extensions, how long you have it, and they "type" For example, i get the ghana braids with extensions. On average it costs £40 (not including the packets of hair). "regular" cornrows usually cost about £30. Can be cheaper without extensions. I live in south london.

I thort it would be more than that. That seems pretty reasonable... My hair's about 8 inches long and pretty much in an afro at the moment.. I probly wont need extentions maybe?

extensions are purely a choice, not necessarily because you have short hair. If you don't get extentions it may be cheaper - about £25-35.niceone.gif

I've got very very curly hair, very strangley curly as I'm not actually black! My hair's getting messy you see, that's why I wanted it neatened up with something like cornrows.
I'm slightly apprehensive about getting it done as I don't know whether or not I'd be judged when going into the hair dressers.

well there's only one way to find out. Personally i have seen a couple of non black people with cornrows, and they must have been done by a black person so confused3depending on your hair texture, they may say it is too soft to braid.

There's plenty of hairdressers that cater for afro and european hair, so u wouldn't have to feel apprehensive. You get ur hair done at hairdressers and they will charge u ridiculous prices, but depending on where u live I know people that do hair in their homes and won't charge u a fortune. I reside in south london also

When you say extensions, are you talking about for men or for women? The women here in the States use them sometimes, but for guys...well, that is kind of gay (to American Blacks). The brothers over here do it naturally, as well as many women. Anyhow, are the guys walking around with weave in their heads in the UK?

As for the price, a shop will cost you between 25-35 USD, but you can always get a female from 'round the way to do it for 10-20 USD.

as far as i know, guys over here don't get extensions. If they do, they get them done at a reasonable length so you really wouldn't know they had them in anyway. I would assume that if they did, they wouldn't shout about it!! that said, most guys have big ol' fros, so their hair will come out at a certain length when corn rowed.

I had mine done last week at a new hairdresser for me. She charged £25 (no extensions). My normal hairdresser would've charged £35.
I live in South London.
