I am looking to relocate this spring and I wonder if any Brothers or Sisters in the US can give their opinion about the best places for educated Blacks? I read in Black Enterprise that Houston, Atlanta, and Phoenix are good places for us, but Houston and Atlanta are impacted. Housing is scarce and jobs don't pay much.

So please, if you live in the US and have an opinion, share it with us here.Help a brother out!!

Where in Ohio are you? Why are you thinking of relocating?

I live in Montgomery County, just outside of Washington DC. I'm not sure about the BEST PLACE I've always been the type to make my place for myself where ever I go.

Depending on what part of Africa you are from Washington DC has a very large African population. My wife's best friend is from Eritrea, one of my troops is from Ghana. The National Capital Region calls home to sizable African Immigrant population.

What are the best cities for quality-of-life for African-Americans?

According to Black Enterprise Magazine, the number one spot is Atlanta. That's followed by Washington D.C., Dallas, Nashville and Houston. Baltimore wastenth on the list.

Factors that were considered included earnings potential, costs of living, housing prices and business opportunities.
