Is it possilbe that you could just subliminally be playing word association. Maybe the mind is simply recognizing the letters that aregrouped together and determing a word based off of years of reading and seeingselect letters used to form a particular word.

What good did it do to learn to spell

ANTIDISESTABLISHMENATRIANISM?

It is about conformity and competition. Get kids competing over something that is only important because the system says it's importnt. And then people judge your intelligence on this unimportant crap.

It is about running mind games on children. There is even a movie about it.

George Bernard Shaw suggested changing the spellings of words but he wanted to introduce more letters. The spellings of the 10,000 most commonly used words could be made more rational and different pronunciations should have different spellings.

OCEAN should be OESHUN
