Can anyone explain the frenzy I just seen on the tv? Muslims in such a spaced out state, throwing stones and trampling there fellow muslims to death without a care! WTF is dis about? 250 killed two years ago and 5o+ killed today! Religion in my eyes is the cause of all conflict in dis mortal coil of ours! it should be banned and never talked in school.

Ingonyama, Unfortunately, some moslems believe that if you die during the hajj ritual, then you are proceeding directly to paradise. In other words, to die there means the gates of paradise is opened to the victim. The bodies of the victims are buried in Saudi Arabia immediately. Now, with the prospects of 72 virgins waiting in paradise for a victim, some people do go there and wishing death to come there way. Our poor Nigerians who were denied entry to Mecca last week missed out on a golden opportunity of being trampled to death and then reaching heaven as a result. Mind boggling indeed.

I wouldn't blame islam itself. More likely the saudi authorities for their inept crowd control and foolish handling of the numbers involve. Bad organisation really.

And the Saudi authorities having had this annually for the last milleneum and a half would have known this and that that is how people behave so they should have factored that behaviour into their organisational plans.

If I'm organising a death metal concert I expert white people to jump about drunk and smash things. If this happens and I'm not prepared I can't simply blame the crowd for my inadequate preperation and control.

Obviously the Saudi authorities deny responsibilty, have you thought of the cost of compensation to all those people? That does not mean it's not their fault.

This incident happened when some people took their baggages with which wasnt a clever thing do, i mean 2 million people in a small space and your carrying your luggage with you. As for the 70 virgins claim, trust me these thoughts dont enter a muslims mind when they are doing the piligrimage as these would equate commiting suicide which is forbidden in islam.

I agree the Saudi authorities bear responsibility but as you might know by now they neveradmit to anything. They have this habit of blaming somebody else for their faults or mistake. I am surprise they did not accuse Israel of zionist conspiracy.

Now I find it obsurd that people like to blame God and his religion for everything these days. To be quite honest the supreme creator has not dealt with mankind unjustly even in the slightest manner. Rather infact it is us who commit every evil act conceivable whilest only wronging ourselves.

It is God who has taught us not to kill, steal, rape, lie, cheat.....

All these western societies have done is only to take out the rules set by the Allmighty which benefit us; institutionalize them and ultimately forgetting religion and the sole purpose for their creation.
