It is nearly impossible for individualism in a society to exist unless you create a system where the only way to benefit from society is to exploit another person. Before Capitalism (or proto-Capitalism), it was mandatory for people to work together in communities, although some were better at it than others.

Particularly African people being more communal and agricultural, being individualistic would only hurt you in society. When people started to become individuals, that is when others were exploited to sustain a living, hence the Arab and European slave trades resulting in the destabilization of Africa and the destruction of centuries-rich empires. When people adopt an attitude of individualism, it only helps the people who are really in control. Like in the Arab and European slave trades, this proto-Capitalism era only benefited Arabs and European states, because they were the ones really in control. Today, individualism amongst our African brothers and sisters certainly still does not benefit Africans, but only sustains the system of White superiority. It keeps Whites on top, while all the darker peoples are working against each other instead of rising in accord. Thus, nothing ever changing.

I see you all your points but, like I said i don't use the term but some of my 'homies' do and it doesn't offend me... why should it offend me, they are my boys are'nt they.

Of course its different when anglos use it- That is the important point:
Anglos will always revert to using the term for whtever f*cking reason. YOU CAN NOT STOP THAT EVER!!!!!!.. you cannot just "destroy it"...its a nice sentiment to think you can...but a SENTIMENT none the less.

How can your "homies" really look at you or any other African people in a respectable way by calling them a n----?confused3

Is it really any different when an anglo uses it? Any African person calling others like them a n---- probably does not have much more respect for their people than an anglo saying it.

slightlyofftopic.gif, but we had a debate about this in one of my seminars and soneone said that there was a prophet in the bible called "niga"where the name "N****r" orginated from. The guy that said it is usually quite well versed on these subject but i'm not so sure about that theory. can anyone shed some light?

If you look at Acts 13:1, Simeon is given thesurname "Niger," which means "black." Simeon was called "Black" most probably because hewas black. I was actually thinking of making this adiscussion in the Religion & Spirituality Forum, but never got around to it. Anyhow, I believe this shows how un-African the Judeo-Christian-Islamic religions are, and how they do notreflect our mode of spirituality. If it did, then there would be no need to single someone out for being black. You will not find one person in the Bible called a "Blank" (in the greek/latin sense),which means "white."

If you don't mind me asking, is your family predominantly Christian? My family is, and they tended to avoid controversial or conflicting scriptures. I often got in trouble as a teenager bringing things like this up at Bible Study Class, Sunday School, or just at home.
