I will be honest i don't know extensively about other parts of Europes, but in thinking in terms of economically, socially, politically where would u say is best for us to live in present times.
Eastern Europe- i would never but there are alot of African students being killed and beaten up
France- i know in the 1930s alot of African American went to Paris b ecause of its tolerance, er i think not alot of ppl telll me it is racist in France, and all we have to think of is the race riots.
What about Germany, Italy AND iRELAND (Ihear there is a large Nigerian population in Belfast).
Now i will be the first to say the UK is institutionally racist, we have race murders and race riots gallore but in comparison to Europe i think it is more covert. But as Britains economy is strong in theory there are more jobs, we are more visble in the media i.e. newsreaders , presenters and there are policies that are against blatant racism and discrimination, black MPs (although they are ineffective)whereas in other countries its more a case of put up and shut up. We have our own paper lol supposedly.
I suppose it also has to do with numbers the more there are of u the m,ore impact u can have or maybe we are no better off the blacks in other parts of Europe it's just more effort is made for it to appear different.
If i have to live in Europe i definately would live in any other town (London)let alone country.
Whats your comments.

For various reasons I would also have to say the UK. It has its faults, but where doesn't? I have travelled to many European cities and (I hope this doesn't offend anyone) but the black people in thosecicitesseem kind of weird. They have no powerbecause they aren't enough of them and their eitherforced to sellfake watches on the beach because they can't get a job like the Senegalese (Spain. I even know 2 white people who went there and couldn't get a decent job. They haveone of the highest unemployment rates in Europe so no point going)or they are mixed race andwon't move with blacks (Holland).Or just plainrefuse to ackowledge they are black (Portugal). The Italians just take the p**s especially withblack men and if your a women they just want to f**k you. MostItalians are not good people.Only in France do they seem to havenumbers but they aremainly forced to live in ghetto's. I have never been to Germany and have no intention of doing so.
Switzerland was nice though I have to add, the people were very very friendly to me but I don't know if that was because I was in an upmarket ski resort and they had bringupsy, the normal Swiss maybe different but they were good people anyhow and I did see acouple ofblack kids on the slopes. Brussels is cool also. They have a lot of international visitors, it being the home of the EU and they have a majority muslim population which is something I was surprised by. I was treated very well there. Eastern Europe - Hell no. They are still 80 yrs behind the west after coming out from beind the Iron curtain and the people are too scared of difference ( still I don't have to live there to make money off them, I'm thinking of buying couple properties there and renting them out to tourists as their value is predicted to rocket).
Black people have no place in Northern Ireland though, if the 2 sets of white people are killing eachother what do you think they will do to the ethnics!
Turkey - no. They are too interested in appearing white so that they can claim they are European and not middle eastern and get in to EU so some of them are very racist against blacks. Although I did know a black guy who taught there for 2 years and he loved it so I could be wrong.
Greeks don't really like outsiders mixing with them not even other white people (especially English). Its also poor so there would be no point in going there.

babygirl44 said what I was kinda thinking. I've only been to France twice for a couple of weeks and spain, and it don't look that good. I definitely sound too negative but I can only imagine black people being a mullato community in most other European countries, which would be unappealing to live amongst (it's bad enough here).
I know there are a coupla French posters here, I'd like to hear other people with experience talk though.

Outside of Europe, I would definatelylook at the Caymen Islands. They are very big in finance and you get a tax free wage (if you work for certain banks). Its a shame I didn't become an accountant!

i have lived in Germany and although alotof the people are friendly, there is more racism there then here in Britain. I remember during the 94 world cup, i was living in Germany and the whole of my family was supporting Bulgaria, because many Germans are so racist. When Boris Becker went out with a black women, he got death threats. Its when you are in a mix race relationship when most of the racism really comes out. I don't think black people in britain realize how lucky they are. In France which I have also spent time in, there is a huge black population but they are doing crap jobs. Also in France the 2nd biggest party is racist, headed by jean marie le pen, its the equivalent of our conservative party in terms of the fact it is the 2nd biggest party.
We moan about racism here in Britain, but If you think its bad here, go and live inmainland Europe.

no THE worst country to live for black people is Czech Republic. Had a cousin who went on a holiday to prague, and the racism there is just so open. People will just call you monkey or n***er in the street. You would have thought they would be nice to you if your a tourist because they want your money. You couldnt be more wrong.......

thats true i used to work with a czech girl and the views she held concerning black people was shocking!!!. Those Eastern European(who are coming here in droves, just check out the Polish number plates) are so behind the times when it comes to race relations.

If you have no CONFIDENCE in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With CONFIDENCE you have won even before you have started.

I happen to think that Britain on the whole is tolerant. I know people will laugh at that, but in London, black people hold many managerial positions, we are represented better in the media then ever before and Sven is allowed to pick as many black players as he wants, unlike in Graham Taylors day, when he was told to pick no more then 3 (true story). There is a long way to go but I think in the South in particular more then half the people are tolerant. Apart from when it comes to mix race relationships, for some reason thats what brings out the racism in people.

Definately England, specifically London. You do not want to live in Munich, Paris, Milan or Berlin. For all their liberal laws, Holland outside Amsterdam is not that great either.

Has to be England. What Iread, and I base this, to what myrelatives who live in the UK say about theplace.........
Eastern Europeshouldn't be considered. They hate each other, and hate everyone else. France used tobe good, not anymore. Spainis ok, but has fanatical right. Italy, lived there one year, one of the worst in the western nations, especially northern Italy.
