You immediately do three things

1. You notify the bank the debit card was issued from and the problem ATM

2. You notify the nearest police station of what happened and surrender everything to them

3. You notify in the lost section about your findings and direct the person who thinks they lost their debit card to contact the bank in question and the police station.

Was that even a brainer?

Hand it all to the bank manager...not so sure about the police they may try and twist things and not believe your story about the atm.

this happened to me yesterday....here is what i did...

the bank was closed...still had people in there working, but the doors were locked... so i told the security guard outside what happened and he got them to open the bank totell them what happenedand to turn in the money, card, and receipt...butwhen they opened the door he went in first...and then asked me if i could grab his bag that he left where i found him, so i grabbed the bag...

then he said..."oh yeah cause my piece (gun)is in that bag

me...."and youasked meto get your bag?, man you are crazy...what if i steal your gun"

him.... "i am not worried, it is insured"...ok so by then i was like double

me...its not about stealing the gun...what if i had taken it and shot somebody with that gun or held the bank up....

him...shrugs

ok yesterday was an enlightening day...lol

moral of the story....well this one..not the original topic...

SOME PEOPLE ARE STUPID blkwall

Providing your card did not go in, take the money and draw more. Keep it.

The person will report their card stolen and insurance will reinburse them for their money. I've lost my card and I never got blamed or charged for the 100s that was spent in my name.

If however you put your own card into the machine then go to the police. That is the only way you can be found out.

@ bluehoney

You did the right thing!(the original story I mean not talking about the gun bag).

I am thinking, if you a person is so desparate for $30 (or $150) to sacrifice their soul, you best be worried if you marry such a person and they take out a $500,000 life policy on your a** smoking-devil

Respect

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

Though saying that one time when I went to use the ATM after this man £10 came out. It was obviously his, but it must have taken ages for it to come out for him to just walk away and think no money was coming out. And yes I did chase him down the road to give him the £10 and he was really grateful.

One lady who was in front of me in an atm line put her card in the money drew out the money and just walked off leaving it the slot. Itlooked like it wasalot of money I just shouted for the woman to come back ( I didn't want to touch the money just incaseI dropped it.I also had the fear that it may be part of one of those programmes where they experiment with people in different regions)

The lady was obviously stressed but she was grateful. As I had known who the money belonged I no doubt whether to return it. But If it was just money and had no idea who it belonged I guess I would keep it or put it in a charity box . A card however would have to be returned to the bank.
