Reminiscing is cool lol

Laserdrome & Lincoln Arches back in jungle days. Powerhouse in stratford early garage days (when it was still happy vibes).

Whereever Telepathy was or Junglemania in the mid 90s, it killed it. Was easily the best raving I've ever done.

Vampires & Virgins night at SW1 club every halloween was essential.

Temple in Tottenham when Westwood did his first few raves there holds some good memories. He used to do something like first 1000 women free, which although unfairwas OK by me.

Cocoayea keeps moving venue and has done for more a decade now I think but is always good. Forum was the best venue I went to for that. Colors in Tudor Rose, Southallwas/is ok too.

Before the 8 mile movie came out, battlescars used to be at various venues but Subterrania was the best ones.

More recently Sound republic was good in the early days for about 6 months before they started coming. Same with garagenation atColluseum, that used to be ok for a short period, Hanover Grand on wednesdaysand even Ministry was good for short time but they ruined it quickly.

They ruin a lot of things. Mass in Brixtonwas cool for about two weeks onlybefore they got their little paws on it.

In the end I got tired of running from they. So I don't go anywhere because they will inevitably be there. If you aren't convinced... you are the they I'm on about.

The wickedest raves I EVER EVER been to though were either seriously baad house parties or some likkle privateparty in a hall or social club somewhere... you KNOW they got the best vibes. They never turn up cos everyone knows each other.

@Drunkmonkey......Boy you done rave hard.

If you're talking dance music then 1989+ when the first illegal, open raves began.

Biggest and best night ever was an Energy rave at Santapod. Santapod is a disused aircraft hanger, somewhere near Luton i think. Truely believed that night i had died and gone to heaven.

Listen here for a sample of the tunes those times.

http://www.juno.co.uk/products/188183-01.htm

Favourite tracks 3,4,14,21 and side 2- 7,10,12,13,14

Yeah Saturday nights, listening to pirate radio stations for instructions and driving in mile long conveys, ending at South Mimms ServiceStation, was the order. Anything Biology, Energy, and Sunrise, with Djs like Fabio, Grooverider, who are incidentally still at the top of their game.

This is where dance really took off in this country. From there the diversification into house, Garage, Jungle, Techno and so on took off. Previous to this was Acid house and Chicago (Jack Beat ) which were our introductions to dance.

I moved big time into the Jungle scene after. Venues had moved in warehouses. Suncity and Laserdome (never really digged it there). I remember one good rave in Plumstead called Nathan Way. Man that was one dark venue. I wonder if anyone remembers it?

Aint even gona lie, I used to make it to North london for this, imagine! Guess I had a lot of time on my hands

Colors in Tudor Rose, Southallwas/is ok too. - You reached southall all in the name of raving.lol you're deep!!!only even knew this place existed in 2000 and was NOT impressed, Asian version of Peckham

Same with garagenation atColluseum, that used to be ok for a short period, Hanover Grand on wednesdaysand even Ministry was good for short time but they ruined it quickly. Ahhh these four venues were the summary of my college and uni life. How I miss Colly. Can't beleive I paid £20 cold for colly week after week, would never dream of doing such foolishness now! Sound and Ministry were ruined! and Hanover, I swear its reopened under a new alias now?

They ruin a lot of things. Mass in Brixtonwas cool for about two weeks onlybefore they got their little paws on it.

The very reason why raving is very long at the mo and places like Market bar andIon Barare a no go anymore. I guess I might be raved out

The wickedest raves I EVER EVER been to though were either seriously baad house parties or some likkle privateparty in a hall or social club somewhere... you KNOW they got the best vibes. They never turn up cos everyone knows each other. Everyone has drink ups now instead of a nice house party, guess no one wants their carpets ruined.

One of my other frequent night spot in college had to be Ezekiel's, Dats right I said it!blkhide

Le Moor
Man you older than I for sure. I used to listen to the tunes you're talking about, and them man on radio but I was too young to rave at some of the things you're talking about.

Drink ups are better than house parties in some ways cos the conversation goes better and discussions about all sorts can flow and people can make friends that way. It's a nice vibe. However house parties can fill up that little black book and have a few slow jams naaaaah mean kid? I like both better than a rave anyway.

Podium, Gossips, Electric Ballroom, the Granville Centre andother places too numerous to mention.Butmainly private parties organised by mates. Those were the best - you knew who was coming (ergo no trouble) and you knew the music was going to be good.
