@Blue honey

Yes wisdom does come with age and experiences and it is not the same thing as knowledge.

A person can have all the book knowledge in the world but what good is it if the person does not have the wisdom to wield that knowledge?

I think that a lot of people now confuse the two. They think because they have an idea or have read books they are wise.

That said, there are a lot of younger people who are wise for their age or even beyond their age due to their experiences in life. I mean if you ever sat down and talked to an 8 year old cancer patient that has come close to death many times, I promise you it is like talking to a 50 year old as some of these kids have been in so much pain that it does not bother them any more to be in pain. All they can think about is how their sickness and death affects the family finances and their family's mental health. Or even in one's case I talked to, who said that she only wanted to go to Disney world because she knew that it would be her family's last place to have fun with her before she died and she said it as calmly as a person telling you that they were going to mop the kitchen. No sadness no remorse, just whateva is whateva and I have did all I can to change it so now all I can do is accept the outcome. It amazes me how much wisdom a lot of them accumulate so quickly in that period about life and death.

Way to open up a great philosophical debate

@Bluehoney great topic. To your question does age make you wiser the answer is yes. A fundamental charactersitic of African cultures is their gentocratic nature eg rule based on age. In fact the notion that age is a number is simply superificial western thinking.

By the way the notion that all older people are wise and all younger people not is an indication of dumb thinking...Eg the use of stereotypes and no human society is based on such foolish reasoning but on empirical tendencies eg more older people will be wiser, less younger people will be etc...

Cultures are evolved by peoples over thousands of years and hence encompass collective wisdom intergenerationally. Hence why so many older cultures are far more intelligent than pop culture. Pop culture is driven by the young and immature while nothing of real importance in any society is. Study the military, legal and political, medical and educational institutions. The people who lead it are older people who are far more wiser and experienced than youth. When you have a medical problem, the doctor refers to a consultant, a lawyer to a judge, a doctor to a professor in academia etc and why in this country in particular you do not find kids in these positions. Theyhave paper tocite SBlitz but nothing else.

Look at Vietnam war and the average age of their NCO classlittle kids who had never seen the ugliness of real organised violence. When they did it was too much for them. Radical politics is a classic. Age is a key factor in organisational stability. Too many hot headed wannabes wanting to prove stuff due to immaturity has historically been at the root of so many of our problems, male and females...

Anyarea in societywhere young people dominant or can go fromnothing tobigpowerful people almost aximotically will be characterised by immaturity eg music and the city where young boys can go from nothing to mega millionaires. Study their morality and it is immaturity...Read a wicked article about the morality of Hollywood and how these people can adopt children like they are pets....and abandon them creating ****ed up human beings...

Most of the major social problems we facein the family is caused byyoungpeople and that is an empirical fact taking on fads eg age is not anumber not knowing the **** they are talking about..with serious results down the road.

Finally black people in this country are in such a mess because unlike many other communities our young and inexperienced actually have a far greater influence in popular thinking than any other ethnic or racial group. So you have blind leading the foolish...and why many white academics have noted long time we shed our culture faster than any other set of people and embrace white negative popular culture quicker than even whites themselves.

Let me give you a recent example from studies in Maryland University and Kent University here. They find that the most highest educated women in the US and UK are the most conservative and the least educated are those most influenced by media and pop culture...

Highly educated women understand why things are the way they are and support them eg negative attitudes towards divorce and a lot of populist feminst type clap trap which these women do not support in any shape or form. The other groups don't hence why they take shit on so easily.

Peace.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I presume JC was crucified because he was unreasonable.

He must not have been wise or pragmatic.
