Question Time, the BBC's premier political programme, will be in Basingstoke on Thursday, 26 January 2006.
David Dimbleby will be joined for the interactive debate by Baroness Amos, John Redwood MP, Simon Hughes MP, Claire Fox and Zac Goldsmith.





BARONESS AMOS
Title: Leader of the House of Lords
Career: Baroness Amos is the first black woman to sit in the Cabinet.
Previously international development secretary following Clare Short's resignation, Baroness Amos was deeply involved in the reconstruction of Iraq and canvassed African leaders in the run-up to the war.
She began her career working in local government in various London boroughs.

JOHN REDWOOD MP
Title: Former Conservative Cabinet Minister
Career: John Redwood was alongside Shadow Chancellor George Osborne this week at the creation of a new Tory policy group on economic competitiveness.

SIMON HUGHES MP

Career: Simon Hughes has embarked on his second attempt to become leader of the Liberal Democrats.
He was elected president of the party in 2004 after coming third in the London mayoral election.
Mr Hughes has said that his colleague Mark Oaten should not resign as an MP over allegations of an affair with a male prostitute.

CLAIRE FOX
Title: Director of the Institute of Ideas
Career: Claire Fox established the Institute of Ideas to create a forum where ideas can be contested without constraint.
She was co-publisher of the controversial current affairs journal LM Magazine, formerly Living Marxism.
Claire writes regularly for national newspapers and a range of specialist journals and is a panellist on BBC Radio 4's The Moral Maze.

ZAC GOLDSMITH
Title: Editor of the Ecologist
Career: Zac Goldsmith has been editor of the Ecologist since 1998. The magazine was founded by his uncle more than 30 years ago.
Zac is the eldest son of the late Sir James Goldsmith and Lady Annabel Goldsmith. He owns an estate in Devon where his livestock and produce are organised on sustainable and organic lines.
Zac is part of the Conservative leader David Cameron's new policy group on the environment.

Looks like Baroness Amos wouldnt say anything about those policies she advocated in Africa during her tenure as secretary for International Development
