I just thought we can debate this issue, which I think will be somethingyoung blackkids or their kids have to live with,forgood or bad.

2015 Hispanics will be overtaking African Americans - Not only on population/census, but in economics, being in the highly valued middle-class America, where elections are won, and elected give their attention to; is this Within-Reach or Beyond-Imagination or Pure imagination? At the rate things are going Mexicans alone can overtake African Americans, which make up 20million of the "Hispanics" population. This problem isn't the African Americans problem, it's somebody elses, but I don't know who yet.

Can anyone cerrect me if I'm wrong, but the passed 37 years, African American have had 14.8million abortions, and on avarage have 400,000 abortions a year.

Bele, I'm not terribly perplexed by this, because it isn't as it appears. Much like the mens magazine that foolishly chose a white Latino woman as the winner of a booty contest; lumping all Latinos(Africans/Black, white, everything in between) into one homogeneous group is simplistic and worthless, and will prove problematic. Hispanics come from different cultures, nationalities and races. Therefore, they will spend their money, hence, building up their own sub-economies, instead of building as a collective economy that could threaten African/Black interest. A Cuban is not a Mexican, etc. How do they relate to each other beyond language? If you attempted to tell most Cubans that they are the same as a Mexican; you would find yourself on the end of a verbal beat down, at the very least.

So, if a people don't consider themselves one, beyond language; how can we expect them to move in unison on an economic or political front? Will white Latinos end their own discrimination against African/Black Latinos? They haven't yet and, much like their white-American brethren, won't; so, how much upward mobilization of this 'group,' as a group, is really going to take place?

African/Black-Americans are mostly based in the South, which has always rendered our political power somewhat weak(nationally), because whites outnumber us by a substantial margin. The only areas of the South where we can potentially come close to whites as a voting block, by the numbers, are Mississippi and South Carolina, and we're still the minority in those places. In this regard, the most vital political development for our people over the last decade is the migration South of many African/Black-Americans. I would hope when African/Black-American people decide to move, they take this into consideration. California has been 'lost,' and there is no use in crying over spilled milk; instead, we need to do in the mid-Atlantic and South what Hispanics did in the West. We need to, for lack of a better word, infiltrate the South and mid-Atlantic as much as possible. We should put more value in our local governments and keeping them African/Black, no matter if we're in the Northeast, South, Midwest or West.

In short, others growth is(should be) of little consequence to us, it's about our ability to make the proper moves, as a race.

Blacks are not even cohesive in our own communities many times, so we struggle at this concept in politics.I have a hard enough time getting a Cuban or Puerto Rican here in Florida to ring up my groceries in English because everywhere you go they are speaking Spanish. None of the businesses will get their money if they don't cater to them, so half of their employees are always Spanish people so that they can do business with the Hispanic community. The Mighty Mos Def, would most of these moves have to be done by the African American middle class? Can you answer what is the benefits for the individual middle class African American family that may view relocating as "moving to safer area", remain within the African American community where crime and poverty still remain?
