You don't get it do you? Its NOT the comaparision between me and Ms Davis that i have a problem with. Its the connection you tried to make between me being like Ms Davis and this place getting waaaay too serious(your words not mine) Thats what i had problem with.....and i fail to see that as a complement.

But anyways, i'll leave it at that and accept your apology because i know your sense of humour is kind of well eerr, very unique.

I don't know about old school BNV, i'm quite new to here, but from the threads I've seen, some peeps will jump on you if your opinion is differentto theres, so it makes peeps wary to give an opinion. Respect for other peeps views will encourage others to get involved.

I must say i noticed this as well. More than one person would attack someone whose opinion differs from thier own. It puts me off positng to be honest. I can't deal with the drama it creates.

What about in real life? In your day-to-day dealings with people do you holdback giving your opinion (representing yourself) because you can't handle the drama of opposition? That would be very sad because it would leave you prey to being railroaded and bullied by anyone who was out to get their own way.

If anything the anonymity of forums like this should be the ideal place to build up your confidence and take on the 'big mouths'. Much easier than in a face to face confrontation like at work.

If on the other hand you feel able to speak only when people are being 'really nice' to you or 'in agreement' with you, then you have to ask yourself if it's really about those people or about something inside you?A certain strength of characteryou lack perhaps.

Of course people should approach one another with respect and without all the personal, emotional stuff getting in the way. But that is where a lot of people are in life and right or wrong, like it or not, we should not let it deter us from standing our ground, or having our say.

Once you allow yourself to be in-timid-dated by those who are not afraid to cuss and shout, you allow that behaviour to rule and to justify itself to those who use it because they lack the capacity to deal with people any other way.

I cannot undersdtand why you think my post above represents that I am a timid individual in real life or on a forum. I am as fiesty as they come. I never back down from a confrontation in real life that is. The attack I am reffering to is someone on this board calling the other a hoe because he did not agree with what the girls were saying to him. Why the need to insult. Someone new coming to this forum would definitely be put off by this. I was so angry with this behaviour I told the posterhe was wrong to call the girls hoes.

Being a boxing fan, I think what we need is for BNV to organize a once a year boxing match in a neutral country, whereby members can sling it out in the ring. Wouldn't it be nice to see a match between DSPand some of the blacknet sisters with Coltrane as the referee. The heavy weightchampionshipwould be101istAirborne taking on Generation Alpha. I am just kidding here people, love, love love.banana.gif

"I know what you mean, it's not the stronger members, it's the ones that have been here longest and so they have this clique (sp) thing going on. I too have watched them gang up and intimidate members, if people would just allow others to give their point and then reply sensibly then we could all learn from each other, coz trust me I don't learn form rude bully-ish people, I blank them out and if pissed off enough I will retaliate..... but there are some villagers on BNV that are true intellects, I have even learnt a thing or two from them....

People should not be afraid to post their opinions. But some people should also exercise a bit of responsibility and refrain from outright abuse.
You'd have to be emotionally stunted to not realise that it puts newcomers off.

There is less anti-USA rhetoricand more real dialogue than in the past. But at the end of the day its the quanlity and not the quantity.I for one look at this site as water in the desert.Too many of my brothers are not focused onn the big picture.Too worrid about reality shows and who JaYZ is sleeping with.

It could get even better if the "Diasporan vs Continental" sentiment didn't prevail. We need to get on the same page.
