I want to say thank you for being dedicated to the cause.
Thank you for putting your neck on the line, many times over (eventually losing your life to the cause).
Thank you for leaving behind your words of wisdom and actions of courage to follow by.

Rest in peace Black Prince. Your words were ahead of your time. He was a smart man. I wish we had more men like him.

Omowale Malcolm X or El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, was the first African figure that kick started my interest in Africentricity and to learn about myself as an African human being.Even when all thefadsters stoppedsporting X caps and lost interest in this great manwhen the (inaccurate) movie became oldI was still just as intrigued in learning more and more about him.
He was more of an example than anyone else around him could hope to be. He was also a real MAN, not scared to look his enemy in the eye and tell him the truth even in those volatile and dangerous times, yet he was the first to prove that humility is not a weakness and was never too proud to admit his mistakes and shortcomings.
He also had a wicked sense of humour and was able to mentally pulverise all the know-it-alls who dared to try and test with devasting facts and indisputable logic.
He was also a family man and loving husband despite a hectic schedule and always made sure his loved ones were looked after. Even when his life was threatened day in and day out he never wallowed in self pity...he always put his people FIRST.
I could go on and on about this magnificient legend but energy isn't on my side right now.
RIP Omowale Malcolm X, you were the best! niceone.gif

There really are no words to convey the importance of this Brother. I think most folks here know how I feel about him. I'm just thankful that he was sent to us. Like Mez said, he laid out the Blueprint, and I'll be forever grateful to him for that.

Omerwale Malcolm X......
In prasise of Malcolm I suppose my first real exposure to his ideas..came when I picked his Autobiography by Alex Haley... Like most people I presume, I had preconcieved ideas about what would be in his book, and preconcieved ideas about what I thought he was about...'violence' the 'any means necessary' throw away line... That was until I READ the book...
ThenI had a myriad of emotions..I felf sad as the book sets the scene of his Murder, anger that it was our own people that did it...more Anger as he discusses his tragic childhood..and then unexpectedly from nowhere tears of laughter as he describes his youth, and his courtship of his wife... That side of the man really amazed and surprised me...all I can say that from the moment I picked up that book, that i was not expecting to like at all...I never wanted to put it down, and I virtually read it night and day...couldn't even wait till morning sometimes to read the next instalment... and then sorrow and empinessas the book finished .....
The power of the man, for me wasn't what he said..it was what he did...and how he did it...that for me spoke volumes and taught me one simple truth...be true to yourself..

clp)clp) Too true. Knowing how Malcolm changed when he grew up it makes me wonder, I can see the potential in BP in years to come!

Unlike MLK, brother X was at that time the unacceptable negro. Some peeps thought that made him more genuine, others thought not.
Respect to the man for having the balls to speak the truth to the American public, whom even today, dislikes the truth and refuses to accept the cold, harsh realities of its existence.
Salamalaikum.

You stood for something and fell for nothing, compromise was not in your vocabulary. That is what I take from you sir.
Peace
