I think that some African nations would have been super powers on the mere fact that they could not be conquered by the europeans.

maybe even like China today, yeah you can say what you want to about them, BUT they have only fought internally on their land and tribal fighting at that mostly before they unified. Kinda like Africa. I see Africa in a China model almost if they had the gun first.

Civilized, old, peaceful and wise, but still a large sleeping lion ready to roar and devour if pressed to do so....

I mean we were already doing business with the native americans which was even proven by a white explorer in the sixties in that he made the trip in an African boat in 60 days on the currents off west africa to the Americas way before Columbus "discovered" America we were here doing business. Almost like a white business man discovering NYC because he has not been there. LOL Africans would have been trading guns because we were already trading spears here. So if we had developed the gun first, I could not see the Americas being colonized with the native Americans shooting back.

I'm from the school which says every race has their time. Africa had their time when they were the greatest civilisation but we now live in the times of the whiteman and like all the previous great civilisations this too will run it's course - unfortunately not within our lifetime.

The gun rules the world because the people ruling the world know how they got it and what it will take to keep it. Africa is a huge place and if we follow western idealogies we would believe all of Africa was tribal and primitive and therefore incapable of producing such technology.

Africa was blessed by nature, the mother of the earth. Why would you go digging for fossil fuel when the sun provides all the heat you need. Why would you rape and pillage your neighbors land when all you need to survive is provided naturally. Africa was a superpower because the rest of the world depended on all of its natural resources. We have learned the hard way that because we do not need it, it doesn't mean others don't and how far their motives will go to get it.

I bet many never thought of it this way.... if we just focused on what God gave us naturally we would all realised just how Super we are....

This is an interesting question.Instead of using the blanket statement of Africa.I'll use ,say the Ashanti Empire.I think that the Ashanti Empire would have gown into a superpower. But nations grow thru trade.Few can sustain itself by force.

The chinese/far eastpeople even recogise the link. We have alot in commonwith them.

If anything they would/already dolook to Africa in amazement (if it wasn't for communism) as they used to form their writings on new arts from their tribal/indignesious (sp)people. They'd seperate themselves and live with nature, regarded as 'special' by their community, when someone came across these types of people they'd bring them back to a villiage and derive an understanding from them to improve on their way of life.

Deep. I love the Chinese. They even got their Samauri from Africas Tribal Avengers same basket over the face etc etc

Check Bantu Folklore.
