Stewards shot at US rapper concert 01/03/06 Two stewards have been shot during a concert by American rapper Kanye West, police said.
The workers are thought to have been attacked as a group of people were being escorted from the NEC Arena, near Solihull, West Midlands, for not having tickets to the event.
Police officers were called to the incident at the front entrance to the venue shortly after 10pm on Tuesday night and the stewards were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "This incident involved individuals who had been ejected from the venue for attempting to try to gain entrance to a pop concert without tickets.
"Firearms were discharged and two stewards were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the shooting or who saw anything unusual during the concert to come forward.
Kanye West was performing the last night of his five-date Touch The Sky tour in the UK.

This is a case of some people not paying for the tickets.. to watch a concert.. its not about hip hop or rappers.. lets exclude that from it, becuase it the same BS the media have been doing since hip hop as been around...

Its not just with rap, remember the trouble Bounty Killers fans used to cause, my brother told me that when he first came out peeps used to wait in the fetes for his tunes to come on and just kick off, start fighting and shooting up the place, didn't that happen some years back when he came over here?, i'm sure I heard on the news back home about it.

Some artists attract violent idiots, I don't find Kanye West a violent rapper so you can't really blame him, but I know back home if an artist gets in trouble or trouble follows that artist he/she will not be aloud on the Island, just last year Sizzla was refused entry because of some gun charges. Peeps where obviously upset but I personally think it was the right thing to do. But you can't do that to everyone, you can't predict trouble so i'm sure these incidents will happen from time to time, not much anyone can do about it.

LONDON (Reuters) - Two security guards were shot at a concert by U.S. rapper Kanye West in Birmingham after a man tried to get in without a ticket, police said on Wednesday.

The shootings occurred at the front entrance of the NEC Arena at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday during an altercation between the guards and a man who was refused entry to the Grammy-award winner's show, West Midlands police said.

Detective Inspector Ian Grant said several shots, believed to have been from a handgun, had been fired.

One of the guards was in hospital in a serious condition but the other had been discharged after treatment.

"At this early stage, the motive for the shooting remains unclear but there appears to have been some sort of dispute about gaining entry to the concert," Grant said.

A man and a woman have been held in connection with the incident.

Tuesday's concert was the last in West's tour of Britain. He is due to perform in Milan on Thursday.

Can someone help me out here because this appears to be a small but significant problem within our community in London, which is really hacking me off... I heard on a Community station whilst at work today... That two Door supervisors got shoot, after some people numbers unknown tried to gain entry into the Kanye West concert at the NEC Birmingham...

Now my point is what the frenchconnection is that about, if you aint got money, how in the hell can you seriously expect to steam into a concert and worse feel justified in taking a mans life effectively for the price of a ticket... If this was a one off I could let it slide by this specific problem seems to plague certain genre of music all the time and If i'm honest was one of the major reasons why a lot of Reggae events got stifled back in the day....

So what the hell is up with that? Why can't a small minority accept or abide by the climate of an event and not feel intent on wrecking thing for everyone?
