I have in the last 6 weeks worked in London and could not wait to get back to Birmingham.
I found the population so unfriendly and cold and dis complaint can be extended to my own.
I did meet one bro who I could talk to and he told me he had worked in London for 5 years after coming from Bradford and reinforced what I was thinking.
I found it in bars, clubs restaurants, and even with the people I worked with? People would not stop to even give directions when I was looking for places to visit at weekends, on the tube I found it funny to see the blank and cold look on folks faces as they blindly stared into space! Were I was born people would strike a conversion wit you on the bus or train even if dey don’t know you! Nah sumin about London I really dont get!
I am just glad to be outa the place, and back to a place were people actually smile.

@Ing!
Im sorry to hear that man...
London can be very impersonal - thats just its nature...confused3
Now I may have faith, to make mountains fall;
But If I lack love, then I am nothing at all...
I can give away everything I possess;
But if I\'m without love
Then I have no happiness...

All big cities are unfriendly. Too me Birmingham seems unfriendly because I'm from a small town.
In many ways it's just a matter of perception andperspective.

We Londoners are far too busy doing important things to be entertaining backward country yokels.

London is very unfriendlycompared to Birmingham based on my experience and without sounding biased. Everybody looks so serious and seldom smile. I have also been to manchester and dealt with the same treatment. To be honest Americans are more friendly then Brits......

co-sign. when using public transport or walking, you are trying to get to another destination. whilst doing so, we have no obligation to make friends with strangers.

LOL! But...It is less rudeup in the northern cities. You at least stand a chance of someone meeting your eyes.
I see there are the same dynamics here in the UK. I used to hear this cr*p about NYers being stuck up, but NYer subway folk are waaaaaay nicer than Londoners on the tube.
I will say this, there is nothing more annoying than rushing for your train only to be stopped by some damn tourist asking for directions.
