Showing hot anger to the one of racists comments I think lets the racist know that they must have struck a nerve somewhere either to your lack of knowledge of self or whatever. Why let that person have control over you by showing what will get to you? If you laugh in the face they wouldnt know what to think.

It depends on my mood and the circumstances.
Some White truck driver geve me the finger once while we were both sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. I actually laughed because I thought it was funny. some low class dumb White guy needs someone to feel superior to. I didn't bother responding.
I think some of the worst racists won't show it because they truly don't consider Black people worth paying attention to at all.
What do you suggest we do about them?

I know of a case where a racist comment lead to a financial payout. makes you wonder how many of us would have laughed it off as means to gain acceptance.

I joined a fraternity back in the 70's. Me and another Black dude from California were the only Blacks there. There were a couple of kids from South America who were the children of millionaires. There were some smart middle class White kids. This was an engineering school and if someone's SAT scores weren't in the top 5 % they probably didn't get in. I heard stories about the arguments that went on in the Active Chamber about whether or not to let us in.
This was the 70's and there were plenty of Whites anxious to show how prejudiced they weren't. But some hated the whole idea so there were people there who pretended I didn't exist and I could pretend they didn't exist, but actually I thought it was hilarious.
There are no monolithic White people. There are lots of variations but think there are a significant number that think the way I described. My life experiences since then haven't changed my mind. I believe it is a problem with people of African descent that we try to think the palefaces are too much alike. I had a White man tell me his parents were poor White trash. Blew my mind! They are playing status and power games with each other and the ones on the bottom want someone lower on the totem pole then them.

I was walking past a pub in the summertime here in the UK a couple of years ago, everyone was sitting outside (white people) with their shirts off catching a sun tan. As I walked passed one guy shouted out "that's a nice tan you've got where you been Spain"? in which everyone burst out laughing. I said "no you can't get a tan as good as mine in Spain i've been up your wife's arse" in which everyone laughed even harder.

I was waiting for the bus under the bus shelter whenI overheardtwo guy's talking, the one said"blacks are not British just beausetheir born in the UK would you call a dog a chicken if it was born in a chicken hen?
So that wasn't one to one verbal racism it was more like indiverted, what are you supposed to do? follow the man home and take him out by stealth? or just come into their conversation and make yourself known.
