Apparently dating someone that your parents or friends strongly oppose makes you desire to be with that person more than if your loved ones accepted him or her.

Does anyone have any experience of this sort to relate?

I don't really have an experience to relate to but I have been with someone that I know my mother didn't think was right for me. In true mothering fashion, she was right! But as far as that theory suggests, if it was that element of rebellion that was making someone stay with that person, then wouldn't you have to question how strongly they genuinly felt for said person?

sometimes people are jus stubborn...when everyones telling u he's not right and it aint gonna work, it makes u want to prove them wrong. like ppl who drag out their dry-ass marriage when they've only known each other6 weeks. jus so people cant say 'we told u so'.

and then theres the element of we're doin something noone approves of - the rebellion, so then it becomes a case of us against the world, that can make u stronger as a more united union.. and the sex is probably hot too. niceone.gif
