Aston 'Family Man' Barrett is suing the Marleys and the Universal Island record label, claiming that neither he nor his deceased brother Carlton, the band's drummer, have received any royalties since Marley's death in 1981. If he is successful, Barrett, now in his sixties and father to 52 children, could receive a payout of up to £60 million.

It's very true and believe very large families are a proud tradition in many parts of Africa so should 52 children be seen as abnormal or is it abnormal in the eyes of the 'no money equals no family' west? Or is it a case where as long as you can afford them then have as many as you can?

I have one half brother on my dads side I know about but know he has others I do not know about.

Its absolutely disgracefull but I have to wonder If ALL of the women in these situations are totally ignorant to the type of man they arehaving unproteceted sexwith confused3. Lady Vee, When Bob Marley died he didn''t leave a will because as a rastaman he didn't believe in capatilism yet his whole family are fighting each other for the same money he had no respect for.

I guess in a similar manner they day Africa makes us feel proud and has something of financial worth to give us we'll all be calling ourselves African - even if only to earn the right to make a claim.

Soulstarr, when you say absolutely disgraceful by who's standards? I'm a true believer in the building block of the family unit but it would be naive to believe these 40 and 52 children are all part of some nice big extended family.

Yet again we have a man who's spreading his seed all over the place,but you seem to be of the opinion he's simply extending his family!

I, for one, cannot advocate this type of behaviour. If this man "bagged up" it wouldn't be so bad (but still bad), but to have all these kids means he's having unprotected sex, thus making ME liable to catching something if I was unfortunate to sleep with him.

I hear what you're saying about Africa/finiacial worth and pride..Incognito....I'm proud of Africa today....already....but you're right......people would be lining up to allign themselves with the continent if they saw financial benefit....

asimiliar cases...

lots of discrimination in America against native americans......lot of people chose not to mention that they are part native american.....ashamed of it

...past few years native tribes have struck deal with developers to build legal casinos on their lands.....and each memeber of tribe gets monthly % of profits.....

every bitch ass race denyer....who has ANY native blood was going to court wth birth records to prove to law that they deserve share of money.....

That large family shit in western world is not feasible.....and lots of our people do it not out of anything cultural but out of being irrresponsible and sleeping around with many people........and then can't realistically support all those damned kids...
