I think It was written was better than Illmatic I think it was a better all around album in terms of it touching more topics than illmatic.

Agreed, though I liked both.
I never thought 2Pac was any good and didnt listen to a whole album until All eyes on me and Makaveli dropped.
Me against the world was his best album, that was the one before All eyes on me. The stuff after he died was easily the worst though. The bandwagon jumpers annoyed me.
I always thought Lennox Lewis was gonna beat the sh*t out of Tyson and he did.
Not in Tyson's heyday but at the time... actually let me not lie. I though Tyson would win.
I dont think Ether was better than Takeover

It wasn't. It was schoolboyish "you got big lips and you're gay" not cutting at all.
I believe Suge killed Pac and Biggie

With the police obviously but he was definately in on it but then thats not an unpopular opinion BP. EVERYBODY thinks that.
I dont think Roy Jones is the legend people build him up to be, I think his record is beefed up with Nobodies
|
Quote:
LOL he might not be that great and to an extent that is very true but the man was still a classy boxer in his day.
I never thought Raekwons first album was the best Wu-Solo I still like Iron Man better.

About equal for me though Gza's was the best. Ghost's first2 albums were great. Raekwon's was a great album though you can' deny that.
Fat poeple and smokers/drinkers should have to pay for NHS treatment

Agreed. Drink drivers who get injured too... anybody who "brought it on themselves" in my opinion should pay.
And how could I forget, I dont think Scarface is anywhere near the greatest movie off all time. I'd watch New Jack City a million times over that.
|
Quote:
Agreed. But then people only say that to sound cool because they think thats what everybody else likes. It was a good movie, I enjoyed it but no way is it a great movie.

Naah, Liquid Swords for me
I think M. Night Shyamalan is overrated

Black_power, I think U can say this on manygreat boxers of the past, who didn't face so called another great boxer.. Roy Jones to me is the greatest boxer in last decade, and belongs there with likes of world's best for their sport. He's a legend.

Roy Jones had alot of power for his size when he was consistently fighting in his weight class. After he kept trying to gain and lose weight is when he began to fall off. Tarver was pretty under rated.

Tarver is a bum who got lucky to meet an overrated great on his worst moment. Raggo I said it. Tarver is the same as Buster Douglas. A dude who got lucky due tohis opponents circumstances.
@ Pele
Which great boxers of the past are you referring to? All the boxers I would name as legends and as great, fought the best and had HARD competition...except Tyson lol
Take Marvin Hagler for example and look at the fighters he fought in his prime, Leonard, Duran, Mugabi, Hearns etc etc... that's friggin competition for ya
Look at who Ali fought; Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Norton etc etc
Sure the legends didn't bloody win every fight but that's cos they fought hard men. Roy Jones as BP said... didn't really.

I bligh tyson cos the only top boy in the 80s he didnt fight was Tim Witherspoon, and that was to do with Don King not wanting to give him a payday. Like Warren with Junior Witter when he had Hatton
Take Marvin Hagler for example and look at the fighters he fought in his prime, Leonard( Natural Welterweight), Duran( Natural Leightweight), Mugabi, Hearns( Natural Light Middleweights) etc etc... that's friggin competition for ya
His defining fights came when he had a big size advantage. And the way he allowed SRR to mind**** him in the negotiations for that fight was unbeleivable. If SRR wanted his wife, Hagler would have divorced her.
Everything, the size of the gloves, the number of rings, the size of the ring. All dictated by SRR, and to top it off he won as well.
Look at who Ali fought; Liston ( Fix, both times), Foreman( the guy was stupid, great win though), Frazier( great win), Norton( lost to every top boy he fough, shavers, cooney, holmes, foreman) etc etc
Sure the legends didn't bloody win every fight but that's cos they fought hard men. Roy Jones as BP said... didn't really.

DM; good point..BUT isn't it true that in the modern age....the days of competative match up have effectively gone....with the money involved in boxing no boxer with any sense is going to box an opponent who could rob them of a living...

I never listened to 2pac until All Eyez On Me. So I guess I agree with that one.
Wow...if I made a list of things I believe that are against popular opinion, they would ban me from this list.

Very true Kunjufu
Though there are good fighters and fights I would like to see happen, the money in the game and the running of it means it won't happen.
Tyson v Lewis should have happened about 8 years before it did.
Calzaghe should have fought Hopkins long long ago.
A few years back it was good. There was Sugar Shane, Oscar was still good, Felix was in his prime... the Gatti/Ward triliogy was going on... Barerra was still about... Paquianoand Juddah lookedlike beinggood prospects,Mayweather was amazing everyone.... Boxing seemed to be getting back to its best.
But things have slowed for some reason. Everybody is scared to fight each other now. It's most disconcerting.
The Heavyweight division is easily the worst and most boring but thats because of a lack of real talent to be honest. The talent exists in the middleweights and below but they just are not fighting enough.
