As an Americanized African who has never known Africa intimately, I would like to move there if my business endeavors go well where I will have something to offer.

One of my family has moved out there.

I'm considering moving over there but I would get some capital together first because I can't risk being broke! I'm definitely going to invest in projects over there because I now have a solid contact.

And none of them has run back to the UK. 1 of them is living a lot better than she did while she was here, but she saw a window of opportunity which she utilised
Bottomline is, it is a personal choice, some do it and are the better for it, other do it and it doesnt pan out as they expected, and come running back.

I agree with you on that point, Africa is Always portrayed in the negative and with starving disease ridden people, whish is just not the truth, even HIV has been overblown by millions it has been reported that if people die of common wasting diseases e.g tuberlocus, diphtheria they are just reported as Aids. There are plenty of happy smiling Africans overt there , but we never see them on reports in this pathetic media.

Know of plenty of Haitian people who emigrated to the united states to have better educational and economic options for their children...lived and worked in the country...got pensions and social security, which they paid into for years.......

had houses built and land purchased back home......and moved back once they reached retirement age.....

if your finances are stable.....and you live in a decent and developed section of the country...it's a nobrainer ......

HOWEVER, in past five years..there have been rash of kidnappings in Haiti.....and the wealthy and those who have moved back are the main targets...as they are the only ones who could get payment in the amount wanted....

unfortunately..this new phenomenon has scared many people from moving back...

we come from the poorest country in the western hemisphere...yet we are proud people....now that people have allowed poverty to rob them of their dignity, and resort to crimes like kidnappings and such.....it's a much different country than the ones that these immigrants left as young adults...

I love my dual Nationality.Best of both.

If I could afford it i'd spend the winter months back home every year. Until then its holidays whenever we can afford- usually every2 years.
