I know this may seem like a stupid question to many people who participate in this forum.I have never seen or heard of any black family ever adopting white children into their household.
On the other hand its is actually quite commen for white families to adopt black children, and we see and hear from it all the time.
Please give your views on this subject.

Aren't there enough black children in orphanages and foster homes who need to be adopted? Why would we be helping to raise white kids when children of our own race are much more in need of a loving home?

However It is kinda puzzling that whites adopt black children, whereas the vice versa is either very rare or zero. Why do you think this is?

Is this due to blacks kids being more prominent in orphanages?

If this is not the case, which is the more likely, then why aren't blacks allowed to adopt white children. Does the government fear the spread of African values among their people?

Depends what the adoption is for - white people adopt black children to give them a better home.....Black people would adopt a white baby for the government to give them the parents a better home

I don't think that this has anything to do with the government. There aren't even that many white people adopting black kids, those people are selective even when it comes to their own people. They'll request for blonde haired, blue-eyed babies, if they can get away with it. The white people who adopt black children are usually the, "Look! I'm so good and Liberal, I adopted a black child", kind of people.
I don't think most black families who adopt children are interested in raising a white child. People want kids who look like them, I know I do. And since we don't need to prove how good and Liberal we are because we're not the oppressors, there's no need for us to adopt white children.

POP,
I was reading an issue of EBONY magazaine talking about Creflo Dollar Jr. and his family. I was suprised to read that he has two adopted White grown sons. I knew that he had children with his wife, but I never knew about his adopted sons until I read the magazine. In high school( before I transferred to another high school) there was a White boy who was adopted into a Black family. He got adopted by this family because his parents dies in a house fire and the neighbors, who they were good friends with, said in their will that if anything shall happen to their son that they wanted their neighbors to take him. He was adopted when he was a baby. He's now 34 years old.
I 've seen many White kids go into Black foster home, but in rare cases like with Creflo Dollar Jr and with that boy i"m talking about, I see it. I think that there are some Black people who want to adpot White chidlren, but with these rules about being culturally sensitive to their needs, it makes it harder to do. Although some White families aren't as able to adopted Black children like in years past, they still stand a far better chance of adopting them than vice versa. Far as doing trasracial adoptions, I'm not against the process for a mandatory reason: Black children are least likely to be adopted. They need to be in good ,stable and nurturing homes. Many Foster homes doesn't provide them with it. Black families can provide them with this so can White families and so on. It's good that we think well of wanting them to unerstand their heritage, but it's far more important to provde children with love and care. I can think of people Black and White who were put into adoptive homes because the parents were single raced only for them to be mistreated because of it.

This posting of yours applies to Lionel Richie and other Black mugs who adopts whitey kids. Maybe they were trying to appease their white fans.

Is it me or is just sickening, that you have these so called white 'liberals' that will do something like adopt, multiple numbers of kids from Africa, then pose in the 'sun', 'take a break' magazine and are treated like some kind of mother teresa, for helping 'the poor africans'. They recieve national recognition, ad press attention, maybe an OBE, or some kind of award recieve and praises from everybody.
It also amazes me of Angelina Jolie's tactics of adopting children from different nationalites, a cambodian boy, an ethiopian daughter (whose very beautiful by the way). Its like she wants a rainbow family. Now i understand that she wants to give these choldren a so called'better life', but how can a white mother/fatherone of whom is afamous hollywood office gonig to find time to teach these kids about there rich history or culture?
Ihad foster parents for 5 years from the age of 3 monthsto 5 years. This was becasue nanny's were expensive inLondon, my dad was a full time student and my mum was not working. I lived in a house in Norhfolk, in a small towncalledWatton, no African people for miles around, with 4 other nigerian children, me and my twin sister. My nanny is white and a wonderful woman, we are stillveryclose, but i had no recognition or awareness(you could put this down to age)of my afrikaness, identity, history ect. I grew up like a white child, becasue obviously, they were white and their culture and ways of doing things had a
