I dont state an opinion without reason. Wether the reasoning is floored or not is up to the person who is reading. Anyone can type 'soundbites' to be controversial, also, anyone can post 'f**k the west, etc etc' to sound 'conscious' or 'enlightened'
Example, Kanye West and Katrina, I had my opinion about the basis of his comments, and I backed them up with my reasons. 7 months of inaction later, I wonder how many people still think I was just trying to be 'controversial'

Don't take negative responses so seriously. Actually, I find alot of educational threads here - although I don't always agree withmany of the posters. But there seems to be alot of positive information about African/Caribbean/Black American history, politics and news-worthy items.
I think it is the nature of human beings to fight to the death to defend their opinions, so it shouldn't be surprising that some posters get ugly when they are challenged. As long as BV doesn't allow posters to threaten violence against others, I think everything will be alright.

I've been on BN for a few yearsand believe the level of intellect and intelligence seen not only here but on Ligali (more quality than quantity) is astounding - sadly we have no common agenda and worse of all no common timetable, it's like where possible a few of us can link hands and try a ting but overall we get high simply appreciating the fact that we are aware and have an opinion.
Respect is earned never given....and lost just as quickly. It's human nature, normal we need more understanding and forgiveness but even then there are some things which are unforgivable.
I'd hate to believe people actuallykeep malice in cyberspace - that would be ludicrous.
