***Was I Out of Line???***

I have aco-worker of mine who is Carribean and we go out to lunch together every now and then. When we are out, he has said before that he was "done with Black women". He said he has nothing against them, only he wants something different from now on...particularly a Whitegirl.He always said it in ajoking manner, so I would lightly chastise his comments. However,the last time we went out for lunch things got very peculiar.

He said this girl he had been talking to for a while was meeting us for lunch. We got to this Cuban restaurant, and this White girl was standing there waiting for us outside the place. After going in, ordering, and eating for a bit, other Blacks friends are brought up and she casually says, "yeah, those are my niggaz". The Carribean guy acted like there was nothing wrong with it, and she even referred to him as a "nigga" while I was sitting there with a piece of plaintain in my mouth in astonishment.

Although the comment was directed towards me, I ripped through the Carribean guy and the White girl pretty much making a scene in the restaurant. The Carribean guy hasn't spoken to me since then. Was I out of line?

No, no, no, you did great. You don't need the friendship of a lost sheep anyway. You should be the one giving him the cold shoulder not the other way around. If he doesn't see anything wrong with a white person referring to him as the n word, then he is too far gone for you to be bothering with him. Although, you should have asked the girl if she would like it if you referred to her as one of your crackers. The cheek of some white people.

No, you did well. I did the same thing at a party at one of my friend's girlfriend's house. We were getting on well at the beginning. I was talking to the white woman about music and movies. Then she asked if I like opera. I said not really, that there were a couple of pieces that I knew and liked but that it really wasn't my thing. She looked shocked and said "Wow, I thought someone as intelligent as you would appreciate culture".

Now those of you on here who know me know that I was not going to let that slide. I said, 'CULTURE???? Do not presume that you can tell an Afrikan the first damn thing about culture. If it hadn't been for Chuck Berry and Little Richard, Elvis and the rest of the losers wouldn't have had anybody to copy. My people invented culture. We also invented jazz, blues, rock n roll, reggae, hip hop, R&B, gospel, swing..etc. How dare you hold up those nasty mfers in Europe as some model of culture. They were so damn nasty that they couldn't even live to be 30 years old over there. Stinking sissies running around in girl clothes with 2 years of crust built up on their nasty asses"

So now me and the Black guy are no longer friends. LOL.
