Anyone here reads the New African magazine? If so, what do you make of it? Am ashamed to say that i've just recently picked it up and so far i am impressed with the April issue....particularly the article "Who Were The Ancient Egyptians?" By the Ghanian writer Ayi Kwei Armah.
But i don't know much about the magazine apart from the fact that it claims to be the oldest Pan African magazine around. It would be great to see what others's opinions/knowledge of it as i don't want to spend my money based on one good issue then later find out that its like that BBC African magazine....i hate spending money on none African publications writing about African issues worldwide.
Cheers

thanks for the heads up , Mez
never heard of this magazine....sems to be on point and objective...and more importantly....they seem to deal with real and practical issues
Wish the subscription for one year wasn't 67 dollars....

I started buying the magazine late last year, and really likle it. Im not sure who actually owns it but its a really good source of information.
All I know is that New African Magazine, African Business, and Middle East are published by IC PUBLICATIONS
Cameroon how is your sister finding it working their? does she know who owns it?

IT's usually a very good read, check out Baffour's Beefs(Baffour Ankomah is the editor), and usually comes with an inside perspective on stories concerning Africa. He always gives the African view to combat any misinformation from "international" news sources. Every issue has something new to educate/entertain, so I'd say its a worhtwhile buy.

I used to read New African Magazine when I wasstill in high school inAfrica. That is a good magazine with a lot of information. If you have the opportunity I will encourage you to subscribe. I amgoing tosubscribe to it probably next month and start back on my past habit of reading anything African. I remember blazing through a lot of books on the African writers series and we hold competition to see who reads the most booksin the good ol days.
