Ive been thinking about this for some time and I think its definately one of the hardest questions. No one Ive spoken to seem to have the answer (and the weakest answer ive heard is "because itsfunny"????????
Why do we laugh?
Why do we find things funny? If anybody can tell me It will be the first and alsowhat to you is the hardest question?
Please don't go die and you regret it! Stand for something for you and YOU and yours!

I think we laugh because the thing what were laughing at isn't happening to us.
For example, if someone steps in dog sh*t or falls over and hurts themselve I start creasing (not sure if its the same for everyone else) because they should of paid more attention on the surroundings!!!!
My hardest question is why people talk the talk but don't walk the walk? i.e politicans and their G8 promises and people who make new-year resolutions....

We laugh because of that part of our brain which governs "sense of humour"........and a sense of humour is A SENSE OF WHAT YOU FIND FUNNY.

I find things funny which many others don't,but also I share laughter with others on certain situations or topics.

What I know for certain is that if I didnt have the ability to laugh out loud by myself and AT myself,I would be dead.......and this is no exaggeration.

As for what I think the hardest question is....well i'll come back to you on that.....but right now i'm about to post something which almost made me pee myself!!

There are many reasons, but a core one is that, we laugh because we perceive something is funny. Knowing this, does not still answer the question since children as young as few days old laugh. Some scientists give the reason due to that of human delevopment, that humans used laughter as a language to understandeach other.

Social bonding too, humans could only survive in groups so behaviours which strengthened the group would be encouraged. Shared laughter being one of them.

We laugh because, as with other 'involuntary/automative/natural' bodily functions/responses, we have no choice. The same we cannot say 'I am not going to get sleepy', and stay awake for ever, we cannot say, I am not going to laugh. It is a triggered response we have no say over.
Now if the question was "What things triggers that involuntary response?"....... well...hmmm......how long is a piece of string?

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

Hyenas also laugh especially after a healthy feed. Does that make them human?
The question is not a definite question, because laughter is just one of the many attributes we use in expressing emotions. What about crying, sulking, etc?

The noise Hyenas make may sound to human ears like a laugh but is more closer to a bark in context and meaning.
However many animals CAN laugh and understand laughter too.

I asked the wife aquestion which I'm still waiting an answer for. Now that she has officially declared she is one of those so called independant women, what is she married for? Maybe an independant sista here can answer on her behalf

Tut, tut, come on. Now you are just being silly? Besides I spoke in terms of 'involuntary/automative/natural' bodily functions/responses. I didn't say something like "because laughing is a human function" did I?
Anyway, we interpret the noise the hyena makes as 'laughing'. That does not mean thatit is quite literally laughter. Nor can we know that it serves the same function for them as it does for us.

To relive stress.
Because our nerves have been lit up in some way?
Because something is funny.
Comedy = Timing
Cause Dave Chapelle normally has that effect on people...
Cause that South Park clip that Jett Black just posted up is classic and I couldn't help but infalte and deflate my lungs whilst making some kinda weird sound=A laugh...?
I wanted to know if the Dagara elders could tell the diffrence between fiction and reality. The elders did not understand what a starship is, they did not understand what the fussy uniforms had to do with anything but they recognized in Spock a Kontomble of the seventh planet... they had never seen a Kontomble that big.
