Well I'm fully convinced now that if you talk about an achievement before you get it, 9 out of 10 times you won't get it.
Ever since a young man, when it came to taking exams people only know about it after I've taken it...and passed of course. It's the same with job interviews - if I tell anyone about it before I take it I never ever get the job. I've put it to the test on numerous occassions and the results are enough to call it gospel!niceone.gif

No I dont believe this. In the case of job interviews, Ibelieve if that job is meant for you, it will be offered to you! By this I dont mean one should not prepare as best as possible, because of this...but if something is really meant for you; it will be. Further, I no longer believe in coincidences, rather that our life is planned out by the most high, andinspite of following different paths, I believewe areeventually re-directedto the journey our lives are meant to be following.
The only thing about telling folk before hand is the wahala of having to tell them again that you were unsuccessful this time. Have more faith, and know if you have done all you could have done to prepare for______ and you did not get through, chances are that_____was not for you.As I also believe, what you eventually do recieve will be 10 times better.
God determines who walks into your life...It's up to you who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go. May God bless all of you and your life be full of Peace, Prosperity, Love and Abundance. Amen

Actually, in reality I agree with BFG. I don't actually believe in luck, although I know that it is slightly different to fate/destiny...
I think everything happens for a reason...but it is within your power to create your reality...hence why I don't believe in luck...thus if it is meant for you it will happen...
I made the above I agree comment because before back in my unenlightened days I used to always pity myself and say its just my luck...until I decided to change my attitude and work hard to believe and achieve!

Nah, with me if I don't talk about an achievement chances are that I won't go for it. Talking about it keeps me excited, thus I'm more likely to go after it with gusto.

I hear that thuggy. The mind is a powerful thing and can have us believing all kinds of things which hold us back in life. I was also going to add, to believe something is to see it and not the other way - seeing is believing - blind faith and all.

So Incognito, (imo)your theory was more to do with your mindset thus a lack of expectation in succeeding and not because you spoke of the said act thus jinxing yourself.

I totally agree. However, for myself, it is something that I have keep working on, at the moment I am going through a stage of doubting myself about an exam, and I am losing faith in myself...But I know it is up to ME, so I keep trying to fight...

Agree that this trait is of a particular mindset which is kind of frustrating for me as I pride myself in being a mind over matter person. But I done with fighting it....gospel it is
