Thank you for this spam.

When the stunt was televised in April 2007, it was pointed out in at least one national newspaper and possibly also in the local press that the production team paid gullible African youths £200 each to dress up in balaclavas and adopt stereotypical poses in front of the TV cameras.

Is this mentioned anywhere?

Everything to you is "spam". This coming from a person who posts like a robot and bumps threads going back yearsjust to saythe same old thing.

This is a discussion board, hence people will post things (negative or positive)that affect the African community. I had no idea about what you just mentioned, so don't patronise me like you do other people cos I'm not in the mood today.

I thought the same, that's why you can't believe everything you see/hear/read in the media. Those people have no morals, no conscience whatsoever - they'll do anything for ratings/money.

regardless of whether this documentary was true or not the fact of the matter is that gun and knife culture is stll prevalent amongst the youth of today.

I have lived in peckham all my life and know alot of people from peckham and ALOT of the young boys DO believe that it is the government who puts the drugs, guns and knives into the community. But my argument is that, only you is responsible for you. Even if the government did put all these things into the community (which i seriously doubt) does that mean you have to pick these entrapments up and use them against each other. If that be the case that makes you more of a fool because you know its a setup yet you continue to do as expected.confused3

PEOPLE always like to believe the sensationalist story or the conspiracy theory, because it relinquishes them of responsibility.

I watched this programme with sheer and utter disgust. These boys had the guts to stand proud on tv talkin about all kinds of nastyness. I felt so ashamed for them.

In a way I didnt see what was the point of this show. What did it solve? What was its aim? It provided no solutions and no way forward. All it did was glamourise the idea of gangs and give them a stage on which to parade on.
