Just something I am researching into)


Does anyone have any idea how to set up an internet radio station. Inparticualr the kind of licenses a person would need to strat one?

Its the internet, dawg. There's no need for a licence. Your biggest problem is bandwidth... and getting listeners. Plus don't forget that listeners will expect you to be on-air 24/7.

I'd recommend doing a podcast or oneoff downloads to start with. That way you can regulate how much content you put out, and gauge the feedback.

Marketing will be your biggest issue. Otherwise you can buy programs that allow you to set one up with minimal studio fuss.

They'll be big soon in my opinion, they'll be house radios with internet radio on them and phones will have them as well. At least thats my futuristic veiw on it all.

Had a few programs...

Pirate Radio - Unrestricted PC-based internet radio broadcasting

Seems cool was going to set one up myself at one point.

yh they will be big that's why in the usa many have gone off air as record companies are demanding higher royalty pay outs

Many what have gone off air? Pirate/legal radio stations?

Theres loads of internet radio stations online.
