Firstly Im new here, and Im sure this is the appropriate place to post this as other sections on the forum were about other things. Btw I tried to search and got no results.

Anyway I have some questions and would really appreciate some insight about getting cainrows. Note: I already asked a bunch of questions to other people and the people who work at the hair salons but it's still not enough. Not to mention they were busy and couldn't fully answer me in depth. Oh yeah nobody in family knows how to plat hair so my only option is overpriced hair salons, still though the quality should be good aight? It's a nice afro/carribean hair salon, high quality too

But what my main concerns are....

1) taking out the rows: what's the average length of time one has their cainrows in? 2 weeks, a month?

2) The lady at the salon told me you can take it out yourself (or they charge £5 to take it out for you ) but is that really a good idea? As I obviously got no idea how I would take them out.

Ok that's all from me, I'd really like info on this. plus as this is a forum everything is written (or typed rather) makes it easier for me to soak in the info this way. thx to anybody with experience on cainrows.

Two to three weeks’ sounds about right to leave them in for.
I’m surprised your having trouble deciding how to take them out, there not difficult to remove, I wouldn’t go to a salon and pay £5.00 to remove them if I were you. Just do it yourself, it’s not difficult.

Yes that was my first post, I only joined yesterday. I’m learning how to use a computer after not going near one for years, so it tacks me ages to type a reply because I type so slow with one finger.

Because I just didn't. I've always kept my short but have been now growing it for almost a year. So um... yeah what is your response to the previous question (^above)

Are you talking about canerowing your own hair or having extensions? Depends on the texture of your hair and how you maintain the canerows as to how long it will last. If your having extensions use a braid spray, tie your hair at night as well, to take extentions out you cut the tip and unravel it from the bottom up. If it's your own hair tell them not to plait it right to the end cos it's harder to unravel and you end up ripping your hair.

Good advice but if she doesn’t get her hair plated to the ends they won’t last long. They’re not difficult to take out, it’s important to learn.

I see, sounds decent. And I can take it out myself whenever I want, so even if its been only 2 days since I got it braided, I can still take them out whenever I want to? (just asking this to make sure)

not being rude but this is the funniest post i haveread in ages. i have never known a black person regardless of what continent they live on not know how to undo canerows.

you just unravel them. if you find it difficult with your fingers, use a tail comb or a comb with fine teeth. otherwise you will just have to pay someone to show you
