Tough love with the glamourisation of the ghetto and present state of some black communities this sadly has become the most effective way of getting the message across

A risky piece of satire, which made me laugh out loud in some places. If I wanted to be cynical I'd say it was a bid for publicity rather any any serious attempt to get people to look at their lifestyles and values. It's the kind of thing someone would do if they desperately wanted to be hired by an advertising agency. Would not fly in the UK by any stretch.
Thought the animator's explanation was more plausible than he made it sound.

Another poster posted this a while back, I found it funny in some places to be honest I don't see why people are getting offended as the reports say I mean he is being satirical about the very music that is pumped on air waves all the damn time and is not the music that is touted seriously the bigger offence?

I'm not offended but I don't find that funny at all. Also since they don't specify what kind of book, I suppose that erotica and tell-all books from trashy celebrities will suffice.

That song was suppose to arouse provoke and inflame, it has at least accomplish at I guess,
Will it Mack people sit down and read a book? Possibly not, it has created dialog that at least must be a good thing
Do you remember the saying ‘’if you won’t to hide something from a black man put it in a book’’
In this day and age can this still be true?

Throw a crappy educational system in with the rest of the modes of oppression and yeah... hiding things in books is still the best way of, well.. hiding things I guess.
Some dumb ass kid was looking to jump me as I was on the bus with a book the other day, do it deliberately but it can be surprisingly dangerous...
At times I get the impression that it comes from a genuine mistrust of the school system, as though the baton hasn't been passed and they aren't sure what/who to trust along with a need to, "get on with it" / get out of poverty they just don't see how a book could or can help them after being failed in school.
Its, ''fukk school'' which is right, for reasons we know well but theres no why... as though they know somethings up but aren't sure what it is until its too late.
Black Lion is... Agu Bu Oji in Igbo, Simba nyeusi in Swahili, the name of a hospital in Addis Adaba the capital of Ethiopia.

I think the answer to black children underachievement is the implementation of black schools with engender that suits black children.
Then we’ll have know one to blame but are selves.

No Apologies Here
Black People Do NOT NEED A CRAPPY SATIRICAL CARTOON FILLED WITH PROFANITY TO AROUSE DEBATE.
there are many systems and role models who encourage people to read. Oprah is all about the 400 page book, Nas is all about the history and knowledge books, even one f his competitors dissed him for reading so much - imagine that.
that saying about hide something put it in abook has been shown on this village to be a total hogwash.
all that cartoon is gonna do is encourage people to switch the tv channel
it adds nothing new, because black people do read.
by far the cartoon would only appeal to those who love profanity in music and have a love of derogatory racial slurs and accept that as norm
seems people are being BAMBOOZLED!!!!!!!!
