A friend of mine is reading a book called The God Delusion'. Its basically about why religion is completely false. He swears its good and I will be reading it when he's done.

I’d recommend a book called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne there are also contributions from numerous other writers and public speakers you can also get it on DVD.
I haven’t read it yet it was recommended to me by a friend, it’s basically a self help book the message of the book can relate to every part of your life your finances, health, relationships, and that sort of thing. Oprah Says it was one of the most insightful book's she has ever read .
If you haven’t read ugly by Constance Briscoe yet that’s a very good read !

Just stopping in quickly and will reply to your PM tomorrow morning.
If you look up Muata Ashby's work you will find he has tried to compile a all of the ausarian mythology into a single book so you might want to get that, I don't have the exact title with me at the moment.
If you haven't read Ancient Future by Wayne B. Chandler then it is a must read
If you just wanted some science fiction, one of my favourite books is Futureland by Walter Mosely which you might be interested in.
I have a book list for days so i will get back to you tomorrow.

Ten Useful Books for African People -
17-08-07, 02:18 AM
Here are ten books any sensible African would do well to read:
1) "The Wretched of the Earth", Frantz Fanon.
2) "Black Skin, White Masks", Frantz Fanon.
3) "Africa Must Unite", Kwame Nkrumah.
4) "Rhodesia File", Kwame Nkrumah.
5) "Neo-Colonialism", Kwame Nkrumah.
6) "The West and The Rest of Us", Chinweizu.
7) "The African Origin of Civilization", Cheikh Anta Diop.
8) "Year 501", Noam Chomsky.
9) "Understanding Power", Noam Chomsky.
10) "American Holocaust", David Stannard.
- Note that the above are all non-fiction.
Chomsky's "Year 501" and other works of his are available free of charge on the internet, so you can read them before deciding whether to buy hard copies. You may view them at:
chomsky.info : The Noam Chomsky Website
Chinweizu's "The West and The Rest of Us" may be difficult to track down, but is certainly worth the effort. For a taste of the good African sense this author has to offer see the post kindly provided by Mezmerized at:
Chinweizu SPEAKS
For Nkrumah's books see this website:
History of Panaf Books
All of the rest should be pretty easy to find.

Thanks.
I can be bad with money so I'll probably buy most of them. (I'm not joking, Amazon must love me by now).
That Ashby guy has a lot of books RR, which ones are best? Gonna get this one as well;

Black Lion is... Agu Bu Oji in Igbo, Simba nyeusi in Swahili, the name of a hospital in Addis Adaba the capital of Ethiopia.

Why don't you let the books you have already read guide you.
You have provided no interest area in either the fiction or non-fiction, so it would be difficult for anyone to make recommendations (except you shouldn't be supporting Amazon)
Checkout the references/bibliography of the books you have read and found informative and buy some of those.
PErsonally I don't think adhoc reading is useful. You need to have a specific area in mind and research into it reading as broad a range of veiws as possible.
If we do not have an accurate analysis of the problem, we cannot possibly develop a good strategy to resolve it.

Study quite a bit. Got books I study but then to, ''chill'' I've got books I read for fun which are also study booksm .lol.. Finished Race First in a few days non stop book that one shouldn't have bought it second hand though, it was all tatty, had to clean it.
Am now just getting into the book R.R reccomended Ausarian mythology, didn't like it at first but I was jumping pages and it opened a few doors, tough style to clock.... finished that Memmon one quite quick, not that good, its made for production and didn't read well, he tries to mix it up, fact and fiction but it dosen't work and only annoyed me was surprised to see its Ausar Auset, got Ra Un Nefer up in there so I allowed it on that front as I go and check them out every now and then when I can... bit of synconicity there.
Haven't finished the Hermetica yet was typing some of it up on here got distracted by another book on the eceoteric, magnestic auric fields, should finish that one next week.
Just got The Golden age of the Moors in on Monday, started that. The europeans didn't invent the Steam engine .lol. Didn't know the Muslems enslaved millions of europeans and got them to build their buildings in Africa... or that europe ever had any natural resources, gold and so on.

The bookstore I buy from online is called, Afrohead books... think they're African owned cause they stock a lot of Afrocentric stuff. Not sure though.
Might take up western philosophy alongside business studies.
