China's discrimination towards black people - Page 2

I havent had much contact with chinese and dont give them much thought, so I guess others on here know better the situation than me. But a couple of things concern me. If the chinese become the worlds number one super power could their attitudes spread more as they buy up companies and media world wide, maybe worsening our situation in uk and usa or elsewhere. Also if we should just avoid china, where we should expect to be disrespected and only visit Africa, does that also mean we should also avoid all european countries and only expect disrespect if we go to euro countries. Dont want to get caught up in any big thing just wondering.

i have no sympathy for you, yeah that's right no sympathy. maybe if you were a strong black man and went there with a black woman or like other people have said go to a black country you wouldnt have been treated like that.

i live with chinese people and they are cool with me. i dont have problems because i dont pretend to be something i'm not.

Absolutely no African should have done what he did, whether it be Asia, Europe, Australia or any other non African country where we're disrespected. The reality is that EVERY non African as a whole is ANTI African whether we like it or not and unfortunately there are some amongst us who still wouldn't know reality even if it came in the form of a locomotive with sirens.

What stood out to me was when he said "my girlfriend had to suffer because of me and my black skin" - uh no, your girlfriend suffered because of someone's IGNORANCE, you low self esteem having DUMBARSE!! It goes to show no matter how harsh the irrational racist treatment we get from other people is, we have this tendency to subconsciously blame ourselves and still have this "sorry I be black massa" mentality. It's sad.

Also the paragraph at the end is quite telling: I can almost guarantee if this brotha went to Africa and received similar treatment (not that he would by any means) he wouldn't be so forgiving but would be filled with nothing but venom and hatred for them.

Like the older generation says, if you can't hear you have to feel.

Never will I take MY skills and knowledge to benefit a people that hate me. NEVER.

Chinese people are, generally, extremely cut off from the rest of the world. Some is the government's fault, but mostly it's the Chinese own doing. There are plenty of opportunities to learn about other countries in China (TV shows, music videos, DVD's, etc.) but most Chinese people only care about their own culture.

How I wish we were the same.

well there are thousands of african people living in asian countries doing quite well to be honest and I have met them because I have lived and been there myself ... you shouldne't be so quick to jump the boat on these negative extremes... The Guy who went to china was probally just went to a really bad remote area which is what happens to alot of teachers who want to teach in foreign countries.. My aunt, she's black and she went to beijing and she had a great time teaching there for some time... don't think i'm being indenial like it isn't there at all because we don't always understand what they are saying in their languages

Take a moment to look at the bottom of this page. Assuming that you are seeing what I am seeing, is it just me, or does this thread contain a certain irony in that we are discussing racism in China, lamenting the fact that one of our own would pursue acceptance within a culture where he is not valued, and all along, at the bottom of this page there is an ad from a Chinese woman dating service.

I noticed a similar ad (with pictures of Chinese women) as I read the Africans are less intelligent than Westerners, says DNA pioneer thread in the News & Politics Village and quickly opened the Racism in China thread to see if it was there as well. Bingo!

Please do not misunderstand, I have nothing derogatory to say about Chinese women, and if that is the preference of some men in this forum, that is your business. But, err . . . umh, why did a Chinese dating service choose to advertise here? It raises a couple of questions:

1) In spite of everything said above in this thread, have Asian women secretly become the object of the African man’s eye?
2) If the Chinese are as “racist” as the above comments say, why would a forum catering to Africans be viewed as a fertile recruiting ground for the dating of Asian women?

Any thoughts?
