If Black people controlled the media, what would happen?

All of the images, music, movies and print that's out there about Black/White/Asian/Japanese people whether negative or positive - how would they change if Black executives controlled them?

Would it be still as biased or judgemental as it is now? Would we concentrate on 'White' crime and half-naked women as the current media does or would we promote a wonderful 'Ebony' Magazine life for all Black people regardless of our social/economic standing?

More black couples in the Adverts and TV Dramas...variation of Blacks from the homeboy to the Activist-City Lawyer e.t.c....would see the beauty and splendour of Africa not just a barren land full of emanciated kids with flies swarming all around them...

BET news aired for years......and it gave a more balanced view on worldwide Black issues.

I think BET has about 95% penetration in Black households with cable.

Sorry to say....I can't say that it reversed some of the stuff being discussed here.

The problem is not necessarily the media, the problem is that people are watching too much television...not reading enough books...newspapers....

If we controlled the Media, then it would be best to have no black face on it, and more white faces.

The idea is we get away from mass media, make ourselves less dependant on it so we are less easily polarized by.

We don't want some black Rupert Murdock decided what's best and what's relevant and when he's ready, sell his shares or takeover bid by another Jewish elite and allow them to use the same lazy man's tool a black face foolishly attempted to use "positively", against us.

Let the black masses organise their own entertainment and media from the bottom up, one which encourages black people to be creative individuals something that generate genuine interest within the individual to develop self discipline and personal mastery and figuring out stuff for themselves.

If you have News to tell then tell it on an open democratic platform which allows others to add or challenge it. Open platform like radio which is much cheaper for the masses to set up, allow the masses to constantly elect a new radio host especially radio host who want to further their own ego, or con the masses (Dr X etc etc), reminding the masses that they have the power not no benign black or white Rupert Murdock.

Yes it's less efficiency for high profits or less efficiency on having back to back programs or otherwise just show repeats. If you don't have the funds for high technology satellites (which most wont) then use traditional methods, arts, story telling, motion picture, acting drama, music, sculpturing etc doing what civilization has been doing for generations long before mass TV, anything that empowers the individual man, woman and child and reminds them that, first, everything start within the family.

If you can't get your images across the 50 states of America and abroad, then fine, let it stay within your micro community and simply allow it start from the bottom up within the next community.
