BBC NEWS | England | London | Lambeth boasts 25% of youth gangs

according to the above post, ( and from the bbc, [ a news channel i'm increasingly loosing respect for]) the problem of londons gangs is far worse than the authorities have suspected (!?) and there will be concerted efforts from this point on to stop it... but what does this mean...

we already know that the police have more powers to stop and search more people than ever before, ( blacks that is ),

for such a relatively small and confined problem a disproportionate amount of media attention and resources is being spent on it, compared with the hundreds of women that are abused or killed by husbands each year,

the number of babies that are killed by their parents ( figure that have stayed roughly static for decades [roughly i baby dies at the hands of it's parent per year] ).

paedophiles etcc...

i just hope the government doesn't use too much stick and instead uses more carrots ...

...i know of a group of kids that make up 'street' names for themselves 'Peckham boys' for one.

but not all 'gangs' are t connected to other nefarious elements of the criminal fraternity...the assumption that any group of 'black kids' that make up a collective name for themselves is atomically a gang is naive, lazy and borderline racist...
