Well, blame China, India and also the Refineries in your Countries. We produce about 85 million barrels of oil per day and the refineries can only process about 75 million barrels per day. This means 10 million barrels are sitting somewhere in storage collecting dust. That is surely one way to drive up prices by not building enough refineries which means that demand far more exceeds supply. If Governments build more Refineries then probably people will get some relief. Maybe it is time people consider walking and using bicycles if you don't have to go that far. just a thought.

I really don't understand why we don't simply abandon our cars and bring the transport system to its knees.

Oil company profits means they make £38million a day.

38,000,000 / 24 = £1,583,333 an HOUR

38,000,000 x 10 = £380 million a day in tax and thats only Shell... not including road and other taxes the transport industry in this country is raking it in and yet are charging people extra to fix up the system, extortion... scrapping bendy buses was probably just another way of siphoning off some cash.
