While trying to access blackchat.co.uk using an anonymous proxy server based in British Colombia, i got the following message:

When i clicked for more information, it said:
A third party commercial product Websense is used to provide HTTP URL (Uniform Resource Locator) filtering. Websense is responsible for web site classifications. Presently the BC Government restricts sites (based on the "Human Rights Act") categorized as:

· Racism/Hate

· Adult: Sex

· Adult: Adult Content

· Proxy Avoidance

· Security (Malicous Websites, Spyware, Phishing and Other Frauds, Potentially Unwanted Software, Bot Networks, and Keyloggers)

· Extended Government Inappropriate


Anyone ever heard of Websense? Searched their site to find out exactly why blackchat has been designated as "inappropriate" but couldnt find any information. OR is it simply the "proxy avoidance" bit - the fact i was trying to use a proxy server.

We don't allow anonymous proxy servers on Black Chat, (proxy avoidance, the 4th reason from the list above). So there you have it. You were not refused access to the site because it is racist, but because you was using a anonymous proxy server.

Please note: Most of the people using anonymous proxy servers try to cause problems with other chat members, hence why you were blocked by us, not by the British Colombia Government.
