BA is in an effing mess at the moment, see that X amount of "managers" had to resign because of the Terminal 5 fiasco,I mean that whole thing has been a cock up of epic proportions, just glad am not flying anywhere soon.

Asmartins I totally support you and the rest in principle, but id be bold-face lying to you if I said I was supporting you in action...for reasons I have already stated, ad-nauseum.

But you know that expression..."those who don't hear, must feel"..???

Maybe its only a matter of time before I get skanked by BA and then i'll come bawling,I hope it doesnt happen coz I dont relish the alternative carriers.

Also I didnt realise the Nigeria route was that lucrative you guys could really kick some ass if you're organized and vehement enough.

I sincerely wish you well

Passengers removed from Flybe flight
A party of 30 business travellers were escorted off a plane before it took off from Glasgow to Belfast City last night.

Following allegations of serious disturbances and drunken antics on the aircraft shortly before take-off, police removed 30 passengers from the aircraft, a scheduled Flybe flight which was due to leave Glasgow at around 8.30pm on Wednesday bound for Belfast.

On top of the alleged rowdy behaviour, the captain had passengers removed after smelling alcohol in the main cabin.

Those thought to be involved remained in Glasgow, while the 17 passengers left aboard were flown to Belfast International Airport after a three-hour delay.

A statement from Flybe said: "The captain discerned a strong smell of alcohol in the passenger cabin, and in the interests of passenger safety and comfort, he off-loaded the aircraft.

"Given the subsequent late departure of the flight it was diverted to Belfast international where passengers were bussed to Belfast City Airport on arrival.

"Passenger safety is paramount in all of Flybe's operations and an investigation is under way to ascertain the full circumstances of this incident.

"The 17 passengers who travelled should contact customer services in Exeter to seek a refund."

@Astmartins

No Easter is not considered the 'festive' season and not many, if at all, Nigerians go home for the Easter break. The 'festive season is Christmas and New Year.
You are grasping at straws.

@Think
I think you trying so hard to make this between me and you...its bigger than us its about Nigerians being taking for granted despite accounting for a sizeable fair of BAs profit

Its people like you that would explain why Africa and in particular Nigeria is in the state it is..all talk and rhetoric and no action..its our goddamn money BA needs our money yet we are the ones being lectured by a Nigerian on how to conduct oneself..
To be honest Nigeria doesn't need UK or even the US..Nigeria has the oil they need the oil they should be calling the shots like the Arabs and Russians and increasingly Venezuela do...Nigeria can trade within Africa without having to do anything with the West...
This is the same Nigeria that allowed the elite from a group of marauders cattle rearers at most the Hausas rule 120 million people for donkey years turning the Igbos-Yoruba and the other tribes into lame ducks...and in the process mortgaging the country first to the UK then to IMF....you exasperate me!!!
one more thing you need to sort your out your allegiances...just because you get a good service you sell yourself short you paid for it didn't you??...or do you usually pay for bad service or it makes a difference that YT is serving you??
Yet what do people in Nigeria do ???.....have countless probes that always by magic disappears after a couple of months all those corrupt imbeciles so called ex-governors are walking free yet the papers and people only talk and deliberate a bit like you really..This is why I like Mugabe in a twisted way..

The Story at Respect Nigerians Now

I don't why you would say the highlighted above?

As I have stated, your cousin got his just desserts for interfering in a court ordered deportation order. I have not said anything personal about you so for you to somehow think that way begger's belief!

Nigerians, like you, can continue with your calls for a BA Boycott. As far as I am concerned it will only serve to make us look more like a bigger bunch of ignoramuses than we are thought to be already.

If you aske me, there should be a ban on all direct flights from Nigeria to the UK...then we will see which group of people will lose out the most. I, for one, wouldn't like to spend 11-12 hours in transit just to go to Nigeria, when it should take just 6 hours but then maybe that will teach some Nigerians, such as your cousin to behave appropriately on flights, sit his a$$ down in his seat and to mind his own business!

You know the law: Guilty until proven White.

BA seem to be the most obnoxious crew going. They used to bill themselves as the "world's favourite airline". I bet they wouldn't dare run an ad like that these days.

Frankly I'm surprised more people don't phone them up and say there's a bomb on one of their 'planes. (I'm not suggesting this though; it would be illegal! Don't do it. But I am surprised with so many outraged customers it doesn't happen more often.)

I don't think he will get a "public" apology coz in BA's eyes they havn't done anything out of the ordinary.

They may try to fob him off with some back door compo and apology but if it's a public apology he requires, that is what he should get.Personally I would LOVE to see the boycott for a number of reasons..mostly just to see how BA reacts.

So selfishly I hope BA doesn't apologize and that the boycott commences.

This is not the first time, BA had been pulled aside by the Nigerian government for their treatment of Nigerians being deported. I saw footage a few months ago, where one of BA's officials was getting a complete dressing down by a Nigerian minister over the same issue.

I'm not saying BA was in the wrong, or right. I wasn't there.......but if they were in the wrong its not the first time.

Boycott is in earnest..same as the Presidential Probe its one of the few perks of having a educated honest president..we did mention the arrogancy and what's the double talk about banning someone and then turn around and deny the same allegations....baffled!!

Nigeria FG summons British Airways over maltreatment of Nigerians

FG summons British Airways over maltreatment of Nigerians
...to spend N70m on airstrip upgrades

F OLLOWING the alleged maltreatment of over 130 Nigerians passengers by British Airways in United Kingdom on March 27, the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Dr.

Harold Demuren, on Thursday, summoned the airline for an emergency meeting in Lagos.

Mr. Tunji Seymour of the British Airways led Tunde Peku and Willie Emretane to the meeting at which the airline was asked to be ready to behave or be sanctioned.

The NCAA boss reportedly frowned at the absence of the European staff of the airline at the meeting.

It was alleged that over 130 Nigerians on-board a Lagos bound flight from London were asked to get off the plane after they had protested unjust treatment being meted out to a Nigerian deportee.

Meanwhile, following complaints by stakeholders that airstrips in the country are not safe for flights; the Federal Government has earmarked N70m for the upgrading of critical airstrips in the country.

The Minister of State for Air Transportation, Mr. Felix Hyat, who said this in Lagos on Wednesday, while speaking with aviation journalists, noted that though the money was a paltry sum, more would be allocated later.

Hyat said this in the light of criticisms from stakeholders that the poor state of the Obudu airstrip might have been responsible for the disappearance of a plane that went missing on March 15.

A Beechcraft 1900D aircraft, with registration number, 5N-JAH, belonging to Wings Aviation, went missing in the nation's airspace about 37 days ago, but up till date, its whereabout has remained unknown.

However, the minister said, that a committee had been set up under the office of the National Security Adviser to look into the matter.

On the issue of privatisation of some of the parastatals, which had generated controversies, the minister said the government was looking at the option of Build, Operate and Transfer, as a form of concession that would bring solution to the controversies

Smile Madueke, British envoy meet over ‘Nigerian deportee’ - 25-04-08, 09:43 PM

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Ojo Madueke and the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Robert Dewar Have held talks over the British Airways incident of March 27, 2008 where over a 100 Nigerians were ordered off a Lagos bound aircraft for protesting against the inhuman treatment of a Nigerian deportee.
Madueke met with Dewar in his office in Abuja yesterday where he reiterated that President Yar’Adua’s posture on Citizen Diplomacy would not tolerate the inhuman treatment of any Nigerian for any reason, even when there are allegations of criminal activities.
He added that the bilateral relationship which the two nations have enjoyed over the years has ensured the temperate reactions to the matter, but to maintain it, Nigerians must be treated with dignity within and outside the shores of the country.

He appreciated the British government’s interest in the matter while urging Nigerians abroad to always comply with the laws of their countries of residence.Dewar gave the assurance that he had taken a special interest in the matter and would dig to find more information.

He appreciated Nigeria’s effort in peace keeping and conflict resolutions globally, while assuring Nigerians that the British government is educating its business community to be of best practice.

Meanwhile, the Director-General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr Harold Demuren, has condemned attitude of British Airways over the way it responded to the Federal Government's invitation to explain why it maltreated Nigerian passengers on its flight 0075, that left London to Lagos on March 27.

Demuren, who was directed to investigate the matter by the Federal Government, invited the airline who sent its junior officials to the meeting.

Peeved by the attitude, Demuren terminated the meeting and directed the airline to come at a later date with its top officers as representatives, remarking that the airline should not treat an issue, which the Federal Government is interested in with such levity.

Commenting on the issue, Minister of State for Air Transportation, Mr Felix Hyat, told newsmen when he visited Lagos on Wednesday, that government was miffed by the report and said it would give it full priority after the investigation by NCAA.

Hyat condemned the incident, and said maltreatment of Nigerian passengers by foreign airlines must stop, noting that government must ensure that similar thing never happen again.

Early last year, former Minister of State, Air Transport, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, also condemned BA’s treatment of its Nigerian passengers.

On March 27 this year, about 137 Nigerian passengers on board British Airways flight 0075 from London to Lagos, witnessed the gory treatment of a Nigerian deportee who was handcuffed and forced into the flight.

The way he was manhandled made the deportee to shout for help, which prompted a Nigerian passenger, Ayodeji Omotade, to call the British immigration officials manhandling the deportee to exercise restraint.

Angered by this, the immigrations officials took the deportee and the sympathiser out of the plane, arrested the later and detained him, while the deportee was latervreturned to the flight.

Outraged by the incident, Nigerians who either witnessed or read the report in the British tabloid, Daily Mirror, wrote a protest letter, signed by over 1000 Nigerians, to the President, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, demanding a front page apology in a Nigerian national daily newspaper to all passengers on-board flight BA0075, a written apology and appropriate compensation to Mr Ayo Omotade, lifting of the life ban imposed on him by the airline, and all criminal charges against him dropped forthwith.

But in a swift reaction, the British Airways in a statement, however, stated that it was right, and quoted the UK Immigration Act 1971, to back the action.

I'm still wondering what BA meant by "serurity risk".....do u honestly think that those passengers would have been rowdy on a flight from UK-Nigeria, all that way??!!!..."sercurity risk" my foot!...look at the undercover reporters who have tested airport sercurity by sneaking past with scissors, blades and other stuff contrabaned on flights..ect.

they should work on their bigger risks!
