chances are that you have probably encountered them, they are the stasi -like-black uniformed police officers that have probably already stopped and searched you...no ? the black ring of police officers that were shoving any one ( including old ladies ) from the path of the Olympic torch runners, yep that was them. no?

the next time you see a 'discreet' white van policing any event that young bros and sistas are attending that will be them....

Yes, I know exactly the ones you mean. I was at the Millenium Dome yesterday (sorry, I mean the "O2 Arena" ). I watched as the Olympic torch went up the Thames on a speedboat and came to the finish line, with all the fireworks etc.

I noticed that surroundng the inner ring of protection was a blacked out, mini army of sinister looking police. Man they look serious. I even took some pics of them on my mobile - they weren't happy and I got eye-balled. I joked to my mate that they looked a bit like stormtroopers.

Anyway, after all the speeches and various bull sh*t was finished, they started to march the torch away again - back to the coach. But they went the wrong way at first and got swamped by pro-Tibet protesters (yet again). So, the lead officer screamed "Halt!!!" and they all stopped at EXACTLY the same time. Then he shouted "About turn!" and the whole unit turned in perfect formation - it was like watching a Roman tortoise formation. And then off they went. One hippie looking guy (couldn't have weighed more than 11 stone) tried to jump over the fence and got TAKEN OUT by about 4 stormtroopers. It was quite funny to be honest but I thought "why be so violent?" - they were too aggressive.

Those officers clearly had military training. I seriously doubt that we've seen the last of them.
