I was watching the celebrity version of Come Dine With Me, the one with MC Harvey. The first person to cook forgot to dish out some spoons, when they had to comment later on, Harvey LOUDLY proclaimed that" I know i have SOME African in me, but i am NOT eating with my hands!"

Now, some of you maybe aware of this, but i am the last person on earth to be claiming any tom as African, but his comments were, well out of order. Don't get me wrong though, ain't nothing wrong with eating with your hands....i can't image eating fufu with anything but my hand......but the his comments just came out as offensive and stupid.

I know Harvey is hardly a brain box(you have to watch this show to see how thick the boy is, afterwards i could not believe Aleisha Dixon actually married him...the man is a poster child for ANY stereotypes about black people you can think of) But what is it with some people, do they only suddenly ever remember that they have SOME African in them when they want to degrade it?

He didn't mention Africa again in anything he said afterwards, he praised his Caribbean heritage for teaching him how to spice up food etc etc.....but he still had to go there.....why?

Sure you eat fufu/sadza etc with hands but....

ask a westerner how he eats hamburgers? Hotdogs? With a knife an fork?

What about fruit? Pizza? odd shaped bones like goat/lamb? I'd also like to ask Harvey an his ilk about chicken Curious to watch somebody going about a breast using utensils, you'll miss half the meat lol

People tend to play on their identity if they feel like an outsider in a group, self reassuring;

Masks their discomfort, his way of saying that he is weary of how he should conduct himself around others, play on a stereotype or two to laugh it off.

I get what you are saying, but thats a lame excuse to me. He might have been the only black person there(quite frankly, if it were up to me, i would call him anything but that...but thats another story) but it does nto excuse his stupidity. His Half Camel girlfriend's mother is white, and he himself DOES have whites in his family, so him being nervous around whites is far too fetched a story.

He played himself like a ****ing MORON! He was calling himself gangster rapper and all sorts. He was chewing food like a child, and even had the audacity to ask his guest wheither their views of black people have changed after meeting him!

The boy is a prick...i have no idea how Aleisha actually married him, and literaly thought of ending it after he did the dirt on her. I mean calling him too "common" is putting it lightly. And to top it off, he has the nerve to talk nonesense, like if eating with your hands is some kind of primitive practice used by Africans only.

Well funny you mention chicken...the prick ended up cooking chicken wings for his starters, and you should have seen him yamming it up with his HANDS....if only his brain actually worked he might have thoughts twice, but hey.

yes i saw that one. he played up to so many stereotypes. jus think that guy from g4 came to his dinner with his take on hiphop/grime clothing attire. its like no matter how many suits people see jayz and puffy in the only hiphop they see is clothing attire baggy clothes stunnaz hat to the back and generally clothes out of place

but i only see him as coon-tastic anyway. i try to like him but he irks me sometime. its like since he done the dirt on alesha he seems to have one massive chip pon his shoulder
