Default African Market Day - 11-05-08, 09:07 AM

My friend is hosting an African themed market day in Woolwich Town Hall on the 31st May 2008

Entry to the public is free and there are spaces left if you are an aspiring businessman/woman who wants to hire a stool to take advantage of the expected footfall and potentially expand your client base

If you havent made any plans for that Saturday it will be well worth attending. It should a good positive day

Hope to see you there

Africa Day
Trafalgar Square
Monday 28 May 2007, 12pm - 7pm

Creating a continent on the Square

Originally established in 1963 as African Freedom Day, Africa Day falls on 25 May each year. Inspired by the rich tapestry of colours and textures of a continent, Africa Day on Trafalgar Square is a free one-day festival celebrating the positive contributions of London’s

African communities to life in the capital.

Festival highlights will include:
* Live music showcasing the rhythms and instruments of a continent with performances from Miriam Makeba, Pauline Oduro, and the African Jazz All Stars.

* Young faces of Africa! Taste of Africa Food Court providing you with an opportunity to sample a vast array of traditional and popular African dishes such as suya, jollof rice, egusi, fried plaintain, moi moi and kelewele.

* Celebrating Africa! a procession and masquerade with a difference! Organised by The African Families Foundation and featuring some of London's many community-based African hometown associations, women’s organisations and cultural groups.

* Marketplace featuring a range of stalls selling quality arts, crafts, products and much more!

* Café Africa! offering a diverse range of fair trade products and treats!

Man now at least I know why those two African Lions are there!!!

Their knives and their guns could not hold me, their drinks and their drugs could not control me, their education could not school me, their religion could not fool me, their women could never tempt me
their politicians could never rent me, but the babylon daughter still got my pikney!
