when do you decide to pierce your childs ears?
Is it necessary to decide.....ever?
should you even pierce your childs ears or leave it for them to decide?
Depends on why you are doing it in the first place. What purpose does it serve anyway? Other than to make a hole to put things through. Or are there some hidden health benefits I am not aware of?
is it akin to genital mutilation?
I don't know that I would go as far as to link the two practices. However, I question the purpose of either, other than it brings something to the one MAKING the decision. They usually in a position of control such that they are able to deem that another human being should have holes punched into them or some other physically unpleasant act done to them.

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!
