Not too long ago I was just thinking about that statment ("Go back 2 where U came from!")...even tho it was meant to have negative effect, I can't help but feel it isn't ALL THAT offesnive, there is a small elemet of truth...

Going back to Africa or wherever ur from wouldn't be bad, But due to conditions and circumstance(out of our control) we're here.......

so anyway...I just thought I'd rant a little..

Black-Pride - ironic this. For all my years on the village I've been telling myself I was going to start a thread called 'Go back to where you come from'.

Basically if the powers that be said go back to where you come, I know where the Indians are going and the Chinese but the hatred/embarassment/shame of Africa among us it would be interesting to know where people would actually choose to try and call home.

I did run it by a couple of bredrins and one thing I'm also against is this attitude that 'we helped build this' i.e. built England and America etc where my attitude is anything built on slavery I don't treasure or want anything to do with more than so, I have no pride in declaring ownership or entitlement to any of it, I'd rather leave them with it and go back home. That's pride for you.

I'd love to,but unfortunately the MotherShip seems to have forgotten it dropped me off here a few decades ago.........if I ever get back to my planet i'm gonna have words!

also to add:the brits who use the term obvisouly need history lessons.

If some folks had the choice 2 go back to the "richer" countries in Africa.....There was a time south africa looked appealing.

Black-pride - it's that old thing about 'When in Rome' and the reality that when the Romans were not in Rome they still done what Romans did. Likewise wherever the Brits/English go or reside they call it home, it's why even when they go on holiday they get upset when the natives can't speak English. Which brings me onto another irony when I popped into a tourist advice shop in Thailand and the person behind the counter couldn't speak English

But for real, English Brits believe the world belongs to them, but then every international hotel I've stayed at has always had the great full English breakfast on the menu so you can hardly blame them for feeling worshiped.

Another thing to illustrate this is the English language itself which is derived from all corners of the world yet it's the number one language that everyone else in the world wants to learn. Ask an Englishman the same question of going back home, he'd look to the world and wouldn't know where to start...and even more ironic is the very last place they would ever consider are the caucus mountains.
