Breaking News: R.Kelly Beats Child **** Case

R. Kelly is now a free man in the eyes of the law, as the R&B singer was found not guilty of child ****ography charges today (June 13).



The singer was facing up to 15 years if he had been convicted for charges related to an infamous video tape, which allegedly featured the singer engaged in shocking sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl.



The trial went to the jury on Thursday (June 12).



Deliberations lasted for over seven hours, before jurors acquitted Kelly, 41, on charges that he videotaped himself engaged in sexual acts with his 13-year-old niece.



"R. Kelly was found not guilty because they had the best jury that Cook County could produce," said the R&B singer’s attorney Sam Adam Jr. "Two things happened today. R. Kelly got his name back and [his goddaughter] never had to lose hers."



The verdict marks the end of the four-week trial.



Neither Kelly, nor the alleged victim testified during the trial, but both denied their involvement in the sex tape to a grand jury in 2002.



During the trial, only one witness, Lisa Van Allen, testified to having knowledge of Kelly’s alleged relationship with the 13-year-old girl.



Van Allen charged that she engaged in a 3-way sex romp with Kelly and the girl in the video, but defense lawyers claimed Van Allen was attempting to extort the R&B singer.



Defense lawyers maintained that Kelly was not the man on the tape and that the girl seen in the video is not the 13-year-old, but a prostitute.



Defense attorneys also countered that R. Kelly has a large mole on his back and the man in the tape didn’t, proof that the tape was doctored.



The self-proclaimed king of R&B has recorded six albums in the six years that his case has taken to come to trial.

With the girl denying it was her and not testifying, he was never going to get convicted...she got bought out a long time ago. With sex amongst our teens a normal thing, in some ways I kind of see this as a victory against the forces looking to see another black celebrity go down but that would be detracting from the real wotlisness.

If you've ever seen the video, that girl has probably been taking hood from 9 years old...a proper jockey.

I guess he's gonna celebrate with a menage a trois with a couple of nine year olds or something. I somehow knew this paedophile f*cker wouldn't get convicted because that's the way of this unjust world unfortunately.

It's like with OJ Simspon....many know their guilty, but hving luck and good lawyers with loads of money will usualy help.

Money makes the world around. Its disgusting, not sure if any of you have seen the tape, but he is as guilty as hell. Put into context with his past behaviour, you would hope that justice would prevail.
I remember when as a black community we could say "Well you can say what you want about us, but at least we don't mess wid kids like you." Not any more, R Kelly is now their high profile response to that, found innocent or not.

At least he has to face a judge he can't lie to..... Jah

A black friend has put it to me that blacks have been keeping up the same disgusting behaviour for time, but just keep it under wraps. I argued the point viciferously, more out of pride, than evidence. Am i naive or does this sh*t really go down in our communities?

do believe loads of black folk were hoping for a guilty verdict it was just sooo guilty written over it
but justice system is as good a one you can afford
