Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am looking for Afro-Caribbean men and women interested in sharing their health stories to be featured case studies within the NHS site. We have recently introduced a black health section to address the health issues specific to members of our community and now need the human interest side to go along with it. I am trying to extend it to include articles about non life threatening issues which may still have a dramatic effect on quality of life, for example, skin complaints such as scaring, hyperpigmentation, or skin bleaching but any health complaint will be considered. I am also on the look out for pregnant women of colour who would also be interested in being featured case studies.
I think in order to get our stories heard and accepted by the mainstream, we have to have people prepared to actually tell the stories.

Please feel free to get in touch either by e-mail, krystle.downie@dh.gsi.gov.uk or give me a call on 020 7972 5675. Look forward to hearing from you!

Of course you meant to say that you added an AFRICAN health section rather than a black one right?

Excuse the contradiction in my name but it doesn't denote what group of peoples I belong to. There are, ''Black'', melinated peoples the world over its not something specific to us as African peoples.
