I am African American and I am very comfortable where I am, yes I do embrace my African culture but at the same time I embrace the life I have hear because of the struggles our people endured.
We paid a heavy price and I intend to take full advantage of my citizenship wherever I live always remembering where I come from.

Afro-American Man:
I hear what you're saying and feel similar.
Not having to do with your subject, it's interesting that you call yourself "AfroAmerican" because I think that's the perfect term to use for our people who were born here in America.
We aren't Africans...we're Americans of African descent and should behave and think accordingly.

I thought my man said he was from America, I know I am.
I must have overlooked the part where he claimed that he was from Africa.

Actually many white Americans think and talk that way, even the educated ones.
Many whites are not only quick to talk about their Native American ancestry, but they also have a negative view towards the more liberal Europeans and see themselves as separate.
