One question, what have you done to improve the fortunes of the Earth's Black peoples in the last year?

I see a lot of talking, posturing and anger but I haven't seen much in terms of action.

I visited a poor k-8 school that serviced Black children here in the USA, I got tired of talking and left the comfort of adult education gig to help the children. It is amazing how a Black presence can postively influence Black and offBlack children.

Peace.

masai....to state the very obvious..I would advise or expect anyone to give that sort of detail..because at the very least it alert people to their off board identity.

i understand why you ak but really it is not either a fair question or an appropriate one to ask imo, people are ntitled to a view and their opinion regardless of the views they hold...

I neve see or hear other communities asking each other to qualify themselves BEFORE offering an opinion..so why is it necessary that Black people do this?

Not having a go at you, just expressing a view.. i'm glad you do what you do, and i'm glad if other are able to do something...but the bottom line for me is that not everyone can do the same thing or do what they might like or want to do..ad there is no shame in that...

And help with what exactly?

Funny how the terms: poor, urban, ghetto, help, aid, marginalised, excluded, tolerated, sidelined, street, drugs, gay, gang, alwaysget linked with 'black' people only.

I am following in your footsteps Masai. I have engaged in similar types of activities in the past. And I plan to do more this year. My goal is to spend a lot more time with a few of my neices and nephews this year.I can't keep all of them. But 2 or 3 at a time, I can handle.

I think we should develop a thread where we post some activities. Nothing is wrong with that.

Was going to say by the time I got half way through Masai05's post said oh don't like the sound or tone of this.....So glad Kunjufu cleared that up.

Also about the spirit in which you do things as much as how much or what you do

Be fair man the year just start and some folk have hardly had chance to start their new years resolutionconfused3.

Suffice it to say I go to bed comfortable knowing that I have done my bit.

Peace.
