At last a place to bitch after a crappy day at work so we don;t have to constantly bore our friends and family! (and a cheer goes across the nation!) but what is the point in having a forum specifically for work gripes if we can't swear?!!? makes me feel very "Live on channel four"!!

Kinda honoured that a forum i suggested has come to fruition, i just wish i could have suggested a more positive one lol

Anyway, to kick off, i had to sit in on a meeting after work today, and while i can;t say too much because of confidentiality issues, i have to say it was a real eye opener in the macinations of what goes on with parents/teachers/heads.

Havn't really got a "gripe" though.

YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES\' OPINION OF YOU!! ;0)

Work gripe is work itself...what a concept...you are born 'free' yet have to get up each day to make a living.

Biggest gripe at the mo though is this divorce/separation phase I'm going through which is reinforcing my reality of needing children within family as my inspiration and motivation to work. The quicker the babymother sorts herself out the quicker I can try starting again.

Their knives and their guns could not hold me, their drinks and their drugs could not control me, their education could not school me, their religion could not fool me, their women could never tempt me
their politicians could never rent me, but the babylon daughter still got my pikney

Initiatives, to help Blacks break the glass ceiling.....

Bollox to that if i get another email telling me to come along to some bloody empowering forum i will scream... the problem isn't that Blacks need help, its the bloody fact that when it comes to senior posts and management.... Racism and Nepotism are hard to get round.... and totally fed up with Europeans looking me in my face and telling us its because we're not qualified or experienced enough...bollox..

a lot of us can't get the jobs we are qualified for its so frustrating they'll say u don't have enough work experience but will never diss ur qualification as a way to shut all the doors in front of you. People with A levels are getting some jobs that pay £26000 a month and even if we apply they won't give us the jobs got the skills got work experience. A lot of brothers and sistas are working @ call centres and Fast Food outlets & even if we apply for 1000 jobs we wont even get an interview.

Are you so sure you have found the answers?

eh Multi-agency working - 14-07-07, 12:57 AM

Why do multi-agencies working with vulnerable young people miss the really needy ones. Why are sooooooooooo many children y/p let down by the care system time and time again? How many Victoria Climbe's do we need to hear about before agencies fix up and look sharp? FFS

This is more from my last place of work, but It kinda annoys me that on the last day before someone leaves everyone tries to be that persons best friend, organising a special lunch etc.

Before I left, I only spoke to certain people. Then suddenly only my last day people start saying "why are you leaving" " where going to mis you blah blah blah".

My moms always told me Id have to work twice as hard as the native population just to brake even but to be honest I never believed her...

A few of my gripes....

why am I expected to wait for a client to arrive 40 MINITS after I finish work (just cos hes phones in and annouced hell be late) yet when Im running 10 MINITS late for work next day I get a call telling me to hurry up?.

Why cant I have my time off because they are short staffed due to THEM sacking folk left right and center? despite giving in my request ages ago.

Why is it that when others arrive at work in a hoodie (I work in the leisure field) nobody bats an eyelid but when I do (sports clothing for a sports center) its seens as im trying to be "gangsta"

just a few I have observed over the past months.

Only the best is good enough....

I never could have believed adults were so petty and childish. I'm dealing with cliques and gangs and politics on a ridicolous level. Mofos on teams an shit.

Most of the workplaces I've worked had small workforce, or at least small in one particular place. Now I'm in a place with quite a lot of people and the clique thing is like a US high school. It's not official. There are no real actual groups but everybody can see it. Everybody always works with the same lil crew or circle.

There's the Polish crew, subdivided into the three guys and the four women. The latter group being two faced disgraceful mares who couldn't do the job properly in a zillion years. The guys imagine their above everybody because they've done XYZ in poland and had such and such a position which they dont realise dont mean sheeeeeeeeet

There are two or three white english crews from two different areas who are sort of alliied but skillful players of politics can always exploit their rivalrys. Oh yeah with one of these groups a disgracefully evil black lesbian cow runs with them. More on her later. Some asians and turks run with some of these crews too.

There's obviously a black clique, though with only about five regulars it's sorta loose.

There are unaffiliated others. For example a universally hated asian dude who we (the black group) are always warning about watching out but who blissfully ignorant of workplace politics or racism ignores us. He takes their dumb orders from people his equal to do menial tasks and degrading jobs and always asks their direction. *sigh*

There are the two white supervisors both with their sidekicks (I kid you not) who follow them around and pretend to authority they don't have usually resulting in tension.

There's the management who pretend to be oblivious to all this and yet cleverly manage to never split up the teams somehow. They'll merge them when required yes, but people always work within their cliques.

In the few months I've been here, I've watched people set up people they don't like on other cliques up. I've seen them report and spy on people and gossip and spread rumour or outright bully if they can. I've seen people assume command where they have no right and seen them taken down for doing so or they do it so often it becomes accepted as the norm and when not obeyed everybody is shocked and big scenes ensue. I've seen people abandon other teams calling for assistance on the radio by walking away and turning it low

Here's the thing. Everybody works at another job elsewhere and has worked in the industry for a time. So now all being in one place feel they got something to prove. Imagine groups of soldiers from lots of different places being in one army base to do the same thing. Everybody thinks they know best, they're the hardest and most professional... this hardness thing gets so silly the war stories I have to listen to bore me to death and every man (and woman) feels the need to attempt to squash my hand when greeting me (through gritted teeth). It's very childish I tell you. Everybody comes in on the week and talks about the drama they had at work over the weekend and how they were the heroes who sorted it all out.

That cow I mentioned is the definition of sellout. She Uncle Ruckus' worse sister. God she HATE black people. She hate black men for sure but having said that she makes no effort to speak to the countless black women in the place either. Only them white man she run with. She's been heard making comments about uneducated Africans she doesn't like working with, she's falsely accused black men of stealing from colleagues and caused a fight with that only to be shamefully disproved by video, she's the source of pure rumour... trust me she's an evil bisssh. How she talks to the African men is like she think she a plantation owner. Go here, do this, stand straight, don't slouch... bisssh ain't even a supervisor... I can't explain but she's disdainful and think she superior. You know what I mean anyway. Oh, an she take pure breaks for ciggarette Yet report on other cliques for the breaks they take... and gossip with her white man friend them who obviously can't get enough of her nonsense. She let's them speak in mock patois to her and make dumb boderline jokes... sheet if the joke ain't provocative enough, she'll say what needs to be said and make it so. Daughter of beelzebub. I don't box females but she damn sure got it coming. I'm yearning for the day she trys that fraff with me or calls for assistance on the radio. She got the nerve to grin and smile at everybody in morning like say she a sweetie. Makes me more mad.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ranting does feel good

LOL

@Ladyday

Their fascination fascinates me, fools, they now think all black women wear weaves, and that we have no hair.... some are even shocked to find out that alot of us don't wear the horse hair. But what gets me is when they want to run their frouzy fingers through my hair......

Just watched a film called 'something new' with Sanaa Lathan, her character throws a hissy when her new white man asked her if she was wearing a weave (which she was), she then jumped up out of bed, threw him out of the house and broke up with him.
