Default jabs given out by work - 23-11-07, 07:40 PM

has anyone worked anywhere and been offered free jabs

my work place are given out flu jabs to everybody with some medical exceptions.

you would think its because they care but as you keep reading you soon realise its so your less likely to call in sick during the flu season

rather go my gp if i needed a jab definitely not at work

Well if they're paying for it.......why not, they would have to bring in trained medical staff to administer the flu jab, but if you go to your GP, they will charge you unless as you say you have a medical condition that means you're exempt from any costs. I found this funny though, employers will do what ever it takes to make sure people don't phone in sick.

My ex-employer used to do this, and if you knew how much it cost - considering if you had to pay & wanted it - you'd grab it!

Personally, I don't have 'flu jabs anymore (I'm asthmatic, so at risk) 'cos I got every virus known to man. Stopped having it two 4 years ago and, except for this year, I've been virus-free.

Well would rather risk getting the flu like I have now, than take the jab, I don't like needles, but if your employer wants to pay for it all then hey!! lol.

You defo need to stay away from these finds of jabs being asthmatic and all. What you need to a good guiness punch to keep up your strength. LOL

But the most common reason people phone in sick is due to stress, more than anything else. So maybe you boss could pay for stress management sessions for everyone.

Default They can keep their Hong Kong Flu - 02-12-07, 11:26 PM

Jabs given out at work? Nah like the lady said aint having it. Only person jabbing me is a doctor and that will have to be for good reason.

In fact I thought flu jabs were only for elderly frail people who cant pay for their gas. Inject me with the flu to save me from the flu and they are only guessing which strain is going to out there in the gideon..

Ditto the status quo.

No needle near me.

“There is no harder misfortune in all human history than when the powerful of the earth are not also the first men. Then everything becomes false and awry and monstrous. And when they are even the last men and more beast than man, then the value of rabble rises higher and higher and at last the rabble-virtue says: Behold, I alone am virtue.”- S.A.Israel
